When you think of heavy metal (rock and roll), what do you think of? Crazy, energetic rock stars jumping off stages and expecting people to catch them (or something of that nature), right? Well; in the beggining it was the music of the devil. You see, music has emotional affects on people (heavy metal 'rock and roll' make you do crazy junk). Satan was originaly an angel of God 'until he thought he was better and "sentenced to Hell." God gave Lucifer (Satan) the power of music (since music controls people - it was the power to 'control people.' But then he realized, "why stick it and not spread it?" He then picked up many people listened to Hip - Hop and it was presumed the "new rock." Hip - Hope (just as easily as rock and roll) can make people do crazy junk - such as kill people. This is because
"the song (satan) said do it."

i've been listening to rock/heavy metal my whole life and i've never had the urge to kill anyone or myself. people say people do stuff "because of the music" but in reality it's something that was already in that person's head. if an opera singer kills somebody, do we blame it on opera music? i don't listen to music for religious reasons...i listen to music for entertainment.

I'm sorry but I dont ever remember Hip-Hop written in the bible. and I was raise in christian school with all that went with it.
I have changed my religeon since then but still, I in my own opinion and no one else think that you are just trying to get a responce out of this topic and just so you know this will be the only one from me that you get.
I do not beleive in anything you are saying right now.
I'm not saying never but this discussion NO!!!
Its just wrong.

Ok, yes you are right.
even though I am still (young at this ) as he is , I still in my heart believe that when starting out you should start some easy discussions at first to feel out where you are - trust me I have alot holding back until I feel that I make a connection with people that I was willing to share with.
Maybe it takes me a bit longer but I dont think you should show all your cards at the front. what this guy did was ( and it is my fault) is put me in a posission to respond because I thought it was totaly outrages and could not believe that anyone thought that way.
and then I thought it was just about the posts. I dont do it that way if you look at my profile you will see that any question that I have posted was just that a question, look at my responces I think the most I have gotten was 15 about how to teach my husband how to type.
In my opinion he is just trying to get responces and is going about it the wrong way.
I have no problem about talking about religion or the lack of however I do have a problem with someone saying that it is the music that made me do it.]
its not the music.

what a pile or rubbish.
Hip Hop is a pile of tripe. often sexist, racist and homophobic, but just music.
Rock music is good fun. I've never done "crazy junk" as a result of listening to music.
so is all music evil then? classical? hymns? jazz (well okay, maybe jazz is evil )
music. including rock music, has a great power for good in the lives of many many people.

Music doesn't MAKE people do crazy things. People do them of their own free will. I admit that music about gangs and such is no help, but it really doesn't make anyone do anything. I myself listen to lots of different music, much (maybe about 35%-40%) of it about violence (for an example of exactly what I mean feel free to look up the lyrics for Shotgun Justice by Razor, but be prepared for it), yet i'm not a very violent person. For the most part I fight defensively (after someone physically attacks me, not when someone insults me or anything), and the rest of my fighting is pretty much just pre-arranged fights to settle personal disputes (and only if the other person has agreed to fight by the Marquess of Queensbury Rules), but that only ever happens if the other person and I really can't stand not throwing a punch or two (and there hasn't ever been a time when this has happened and me and the other person haven't made up and apologized after the fight). Defending myself happens much more often, but that's because i'm a rocker living in a ghetto neighborhood and they don't take too kindly to AC/DC being louder than the BS they call music. But back on topic... Of course, i've no doubt that Satan still tells people to do things, but I really doubt that it's often through music. Maybe if it's a Satanic band, but one can't classify a band as Satanic simply because it's rock or whatever other genre. That's like saying "He was watching Friends when he heard voices telling him to rob the store down the street, so Friends must be Satanic!"
I'm a Christian and have been all my life. But that doesn't mean I can't listen to non-Christian music. The first song I can remember listening to is Cherry Bomb by Joan Jett. Plus there are plenty of Christian bands that play rock, metal, punk, and lots of other genres. There's even a genre of music called unblack metal (has a few other names, but I can't remember them), which is the Christian version of black metal. A good band of this genre is Extol. And if you don't believe me check out the lyrics to they're song Undeceived: http://www.lyricsdepot.com/extol/undeceived.html
And if anyone says "They sound like demons" I have these questions for you... How do you know what demons sounds like? Have you heard them before? And if demons want to persuade people into doing things wouldn't they do so in a way that appeals to the person they're attempting to corrupt so they would be more likely to succeed?
Although I do agree that rap/hip-hop is complete and total crap. How anyone can stand it is beyond me.

Firstly i dont really listen to heavy metal music, but i love other music. Not sure whether or not you are saying music in general is from the devil.
i listen to music for the words mostly and beat, and simply entertainment.

I thing everyone has a rigt to express them selves in anyway that they want as long as it does not harm other people but jumping of the stage is a litle to dramatic for my taste.
