Does Anyone's Snoring Keep You Up At Night?

My roommate use to snore lightly. It was bearable. But ever since she has been fighting the flu, she has been snoring a little more. Right now, she is snoring so loud, that I can hardly concentrate on typing. I know that I will not be able to sleep through all of this racket. I believe that she is on her back. So if I can not sleep, I will have to wake her and tell her to turn over. As much as I hate to wake a sleeping person, I have to get at least four hours of sleep at night or the world becomes my enemy. So how soundly do you sleep?

My husband wears a CPAP machine at night because of his sleep apnea before that he snored so loudly I could not sleep.

Oh I see. A friend of mine hast to use a machine at night also. She puts this mask type thing over her face, so that if she stops breathing, the machine breathes for me.

Yes.. sometimes. my mom does snore and she keeps me really awake at time or shall i say most of the time. That is why i never let her sleep before i do cause i will never be able to sleep well when she sleeps before me. it is really hard to sleep when someone is making such uncomfortable noises.

I know exactly what you mean. Those noises can be very irritating when you are trying to sleep.

So much better now that my husband has lost weight, at least 40 pounds since moving to US. It was a big problem when we lived in Samoa and some of the time I couldn't sleep in the same room as him. It was really bad. Some nights I would roll him over onto his side just to get a little peace and quiet but not long after he would've rolled back and start singing again. We even tried those nose strips and they did work for a short time. I think he also had a mild case of sleep apnea because some nights if I was still awake, he would stop breathing and then I would shake him and he would start to breath again or let out a big sigh. His father has it and uses a breathing machine at night. Ever since he's lost the weight it has been so much better and quieter.

Matter a fact I do have someone who's snoring keep me awake at night, but luckily its only 3 nights a week.My husband had about tried it all to help, but it does nothing for his snoring, just my luck.I do sleep heavy so if I could figure out a way for him not to snore til after I fell asleep I would love that, but I usually spend the first hour telling him to roll over.
