I would prefer laptop. I use computer in house but i would also prefer laptop in my house too. There are lot of advantages of laptop over the computer. Laptop is easy to carry, trendy, anytime available, etc and laptop is the preferred for me over the computer. I like laptop more than computer and would like to use laptop only.

I prefer a desktop, because I have become accostomed to it. I find it easier to handle, sitting on my chair. For laptop, different kind of adjustments are required and moreover, right now I do not have money to buy to laptop.....LOL!

There are advantages and disadvantages for a laptop and a desktop. I have a laptop before but its under repair now. I loved using my laptop as its handy and the keys are softer. I have had it for several years and it really helped me with my work. But in terms of durability, a desktop computer last longer than a laptop. So other than the weight and durability, I prefer to use the laptop more than a desktop. Also the space it can save on my desk.

yes I agree but laptop is made in a way not to carry so much space for large jobs as you said but only for short and simple computing solutions. Those which require that of course need more than a desk top at times.

I love my laptop! over a stationary computer anyday. It allows me to be mobile. I rarely have time to stay at home. And if i do I have the option of just setting up my laptop in any area of the house I want to --and I'm in business ~ hassle-free!-) Try that with a bulky desktop. My laptop allows me to make to maximize the use of my time. And the more time that I can squeeze out to dedicate to my online business endeavors, The better!...my laptop ends up pays for itself over & over again..$$$-)

Just now I had responded to discussion to say that I preferred to choose a laptop if I were to get a new one. Ok here I would like to add some more of my views further. From my nephew's experience I find that to purchase laptop online could get cheaper price with genuine and legal soft ware as well.

Most people seem to prefer to purchase a laptop/notebook computer these days instead of the more traditional desktop computer. The problem is that there are drawbacks in both of them. I personally prefer a laptop over a desktop, since it is mobile and I being a engineer have to study at various places and require it. The price of the machine, in my opinion would have to be the main disadvantage. Not only the price to buy initially but also to upgrade the machine and keep in working order. To use an example, an entry level Desktop PC currently would cost around £600 to buy - A similar specification for a laptop, would cost around £1,300, just over double the cost.

I prefer Laptop because i keep on moving from one city to another so it is that way convinient. Secondly, when in one city i can carry it with me and sell my ideas about particular software or any other program and technology.

i prefer laptop though right now i don't have my own laptop. im planning to sell my desktop just to buy a new laptop. laptop is more convenient to use. eventhough you are in your room, lying on bed, in a cafe, restaurant or mall, you can bring your laptop. desktop is taking a big space in my room. im having problems with the cords, they all hang everywhere.

hmm.. Actually I have an Computer, but I have the intention to buy an laptop because a very good friend hes also and we can comunicate on wireless. The real reason because I prefer the laptop is that the notebook is portable and is very used if you are bussinessman, but I must specify that The New Generation is using more laptops and maybe over 3-5 years computers on this stage may be really useless.
