A long life free of disease and disability is something most of us look forward to.
Practicing healthy behaviors can prevent or control the effects of many leading causes of death, no matter one's age. Lifestyle has the greatest influence on how healthy you are and how long you live.
According to new research, brain health can be improved by being physically and socially active.
In your opinion, what do you think is the key to long life?

Key to a long life is positive attitude in life. With this we do not worry in life and all good things are attracted towards us whether they are good health, good people and good money. Those with positive disposition seldom fall ill. Some who are negative are always worrying for the bad outcome so attract similar things in life, so to have a quality and long life one should be positive in all endeavours of life.

good question and discussion this is,
ok according to me if we stay healthy and fit its enough to lead a happy and considerably longer life that most of the people.
and also i feel that exercise helps us to stay fit and healthy ... good ... but the point is we need to stay tension free too so practice the meditative ways also ... we want to lead a long life ok but also think of the quality of the life we lead.
hope you have got my point here
exercise for fitness ... mediation for tension free life.

hey i never heard about the lady but you know what i really know the recipe for such life ... if not 113 years at least 80 years is quite possible.
i say you must have heard of martial arts and 'Tai Chi' they are the best way to lead a healthy life. And also do a lot of skipping i suggest and always don't for get to meditate.
sounds hard but once you get them into your lifestyle you will start to take pleasure ... its my personal experiance.

In my opinion, the key to a long life is NO STRESS.
Stress is a factor in everyone's life every day. My daughter last week was in the grocery store, she said she didn't feel good, and went to the bathroom, when she came back, her CHEST was hurting her. Didn't feel like it was closing, just hurting.
She had been under stress at her job all day that day and it all built up. I told her boyfriend if she was still feeling like that by morning, to take her to the ER or if it got worse, to take her immediately. I knew it was just the stress, but stress can kill you. I checked up on her every hour.
So I think we need to eliminate all the stress in our lives.

Yes she is doing better now thank you for asking.
How to avoid stress is to not let everything build up. If a situation occurs, deal with it at the time it happens. That is what I told my daughter. If something isn't right, don't keep her mouth shut, say what is on her mind and get it off her chest.

Hi Icyorchid. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I do agree that being stressful will affect our health and our life. So, in order to live a long life, we will try to avoid stress. But the question is, how can we avoid stress when they are so much pressure in the current situation? Anyway, thanks for the sharing about your daughter. Hopefully she is fine now.

it is everything you said it is and more importantly, keep a positive outlook in life. easier said than done, yes but for me it is not really how long you've lived but how you live. live with no regrets so when your time comes you'll be able to come to terms with it peacefully.

the recipe of long life consists of many factors. The most important of these factors, in my opinion, is optimism. It is inevitable that we meet some unpleasant and unsatisfactory matters in our life. How would we deal with them is different from person to person. Some leaves those bad things away, in contrast, some are affected by these experiences,even can't recovered. If you are a optimistic person, anything frustrating you is nothing. You should hold a strong confident to face with future. right? Easy though, who can do absolutely far away from pessimism.

Well this might not be the key but could help promotes healthy life and eventually lead to a long life...
1. Regular Exercise
2. Drink a lot of water
3. Have a good sleeping hapit (10pm-6am)
4. Eat a lot of vegetable and fruits

the key to a long life are, love, forgiveness, and positive thinking. you need all three of these things working together to allow for a long and happy life. of course eating right and working out is needed too, but none of that matters without those three key elements
