I collect Wallace and Gromit stuff, have done since I was about 11 or 12 years old! Even more now its me paying for things. I have dvds/videos, jigsaws, teddies, bubble bath, fridge magnets, keyrings, money boxes, t-shirts, socks, mugs, plates, and more!! My whole family know I like Wallace and Gromit but they dont know what Ive got or havent got - I dont either as most of it is at my mums!! My brother used to collect keyrings, he used to hang them from the top bunk bedd so that when he would go to bed at night (he slept on the bottom) he would see them all. One day he took them down and cant remember what he did with them - whether they got put in the loft or went to a carboot sale! Its strange the stuff we collect when we are young!!

oh yes, i remember those days when i would go crazy to collect stamps of different countries. I used to have quarrels with friends regarding the authenticity of the stamps. it was great fun even exchanging the stamps with others. i also have a collection of the small, meaningless and also bigger funny poems that i used to write in my childhood. wish those days could come back to me...

Zelda - One of my kitchen witches
Bright Blessings Eskarena! Kitchen Witches became popular in the 60's or 70's I believe and my mother gave me one when I was first married. I have a great collection of them but have had some disappear over the years. I also collect Witchy Cookbooks. In addition, my youngest daughter, I won't tell her age, but she has a 12 year old son so she isn't a baby girl doesn't like to shop for people. Her way around this is to buy a "collectible" item for family members and "start" their collections for them. She decided a few years back that I needed to collect Willow Tree Angels. The reason she does this is so for every occasion all she has to do is go and pick up one that she hasn't already purchased. What can I do? I've got to love her!~Donna

Well, I'm a woman but I guess I'm not like other women who do collect pairs of shoes and bags. I do have several of those but I just don't keep them for myself. Most often, I would give or transfer these properties and belongings to my younger relatives and in-laws whom I know will benefit from using it. I believe this is better than discarding or throwing them all away. I prefer collecting old coins and stamps, too. Unfortunately, I have somehow forgotten them mainly because I only rely on the coins and stamps which my relatives from other countries give me. At present, writing letters or snail mails isn't being practiced so much anymore because e-mails and text messages are faster, cheaper, and more dependable means of communications with loved ones from far away. Aside from this, I have several cups and mugs which were given by friends or officemates. I'm not really fond of them but because they were given to me, I treasure them. But I've got to admit that I'm definitely fond of small and minute items like small decorated tin cans, scented shaped candles (fruits, flowers, veggies), traditional camera film canisters, bottles of perfumes, and jewelries. However, I intend to give all of my jewelries to our daughter when I get old, say when I'm about 50. I even have a lot of used call and text cards from Smart, Sun and Globe, numbering to about eighty pieces. You might find this funny and illogical but at the back of my mind, I'd like to think that they will be pretty valuable after about twenty or thirty years. I guess the weirdest collection that I've got is the little round pellets which I get from cleaning our staple of rice. Even my husband finds it weird and sometimes, he even laughs at it. But still, I've got other things which I'd want to collect like feng shui items, dolls and stuffed toys, Nintendo game and watch and cartridges. Unluckily, I don't have excess funds to buy these at the moment.

Hi eskarena! :) When I was younger, I used to collect scented papers, gel pens, fairy tale books, sweet valley books and a lot of books. Now, I don't know where my scented papers and gel pens are but my books are still in my bookshelves. I have lots of books now and my collection expanded to DVDs, bags, flipflops and ballet flats.

I used to collect novelty erasures, keyrings and soaps. I had absolutely hundreds and hundreds of the things everywhere. I got rid of them all in the end though as they just got manky over the years and were all tatty.

Yes I do but it never occured to me that I will be collecting it... call cards or internet cards. When cards for internet, phones and cellphones were out in the market, I just not throw it away but have the facination to keep things. Then cleaning my room yesterday, I found all my card stashed in a certain place and I started to see the variety of it. So, I started to arrange it in an album. I have cartoon themed, portait paintings, historical paintings, sceneries, international cards (from my mom's trips) and will ask my friends and cousins for more cards in my collection. Anyone wants to donate to me? Thanks a lot.

I don't really have time to collect anything at this time in my life. A few years ago i started collecting brcoohes but have nowhere to display them so sold them on ebay. When i was younger I used to collect tortioses, my collection is wrapped up in the loft!! My 10 year old son used to collect badges, but we started having a job to find proper badges. My eldest daughter used to collect pencils from places we have visited and also different sorts of rubbers. My other children haven't asked to collect things yet. My 10 yr old has been collecting football cards! Does this count? And I suppose I have been collecting gnomes for my garden, have so many now I haven't room for any more!! LOL

I try not to collect things because they take up so much room but I do actually collect my favorite books by my favorite authors and horse figurines. I have a LOT of both! :-) I thought it was funny that you said you found your stamp collection from when you were a child, I found mine too just last year when I was going through some things. It was kind of neat to see it again.

Yes, I too have a good collection of stamps. I used to collect coins too. That too, I had a different collection of coins with each release from the same country..Now they are not even available. When I was married, my hubby's collection also joned mine. So we have a great pile now. I have to hand over everything to my son, if he is interested in them. Other than that I have a great collection of miniatures like a small shoe,cup-board,bottle,bag etc... I'm fond of them still. So I continue to collect them still. Whenever I find anything lovely while shopping, I buy them. ..But at times I feel why I have such a huge dump..But hobbies are important in life too..
