Two Way Mirrors: Can you tell the difference? Women, Take heed.

I got a chain mail which I believe is important to share especially with women like me. According to the email "When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc. how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)?
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficu to positively identify the surface by looking at it.
So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?
Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
'No Space, Leave the Place' So remember, everytime you see a mirror, do the 'fingernail test.' It doesn't cost you anything.
REMEMBER. 'No Space, Leave the Place'

That's interesting,. I have never heard of this situation occuring. I use public toilets in shopping centres & service stations. If ever they installed 2 way mirrors, they would be in no end of trouble.

Thanks for making us aware, as I have never thought about this problem before. It made me ill thinking about somebody watching me. I am glad that you posted this topic.

I've always been suspicious of mirrors in public places, so I've made a habit of avoiding them as much as possible. Now I'm thinking I had a good reason to be wary of mirrors. Not only pervs, but security people who really shouldn't be invading your privacy like that. I even heard a story once about someone with a job in security at a department store who had to spy on women trying on clothes. There were indeed 2-way mirrors in the dressing room of that store, and that person felt bad about spying on women who thought they had some privacy.

This is a very good information. I never thought some people actually put two-mirrors in the toilets and other rooms. Thanks for sharing.
