we have all heard of the stories of the dangers of driving while talking on a cellphone, you can die or get into a serious accidents,
can anybody come up with a valid reason that outweighs the dangers?
what are the options?
do you do this yourself or know someone who does?

People all know rules and statistics and everyone tends to believe that that is for someone else, not me. I am guilty, myself. Not often, not for long, but I do from time to time dial hubby from the car.

I know one person who had a stupid wreck on a snow day, and not only was it because of her "stupidity" of talking and driving, in very bad weather, but also not being bright enough to check for closings before driving into town for work, since the television stations do tell you when to stay home. My phone calls to hubby generally are of the type "The car is doing such and such, should I try to make it home? I still am putting myself at risks, I know.

Nope I do not drive but was almost hit in the middle of LarwinSquare by a driver who was not looking and yakking away on a cell phone. I had to jump out of her wayas she was headed right for me.when I recognized her I was really shocked as she was the bit** who lived below us and drove us crazy with her thumping on the ceiling because she did not like anything we did.she finally moved out and here she was driving and talking on a cellphone and almost hitting me. made me wonder a bit.

All my friends drive while using their phone but fortunately, no one I've heared meet an accident! It depends on the person when to stop using and when its safe using while on the road..just need to be very vigilant in doing so!

Two things that i can say about these kinda persons.
Firstly, they uncare about the saftey of other persons.
Secondly, they are over confident about their driving skills.

maybe they are busy for that time, and maybe they donot be aware of the dangerous of this behaivor, and maybe they just think it is not a big deal.
but we should tell them cherish their life, because life is so fragile, and definitely it has one time in our life.

I do it all the time, it really isn't a problem for me. It is legal in my state and I will continue to do it, probably even if it is made illegal. Now texting and driving is a whole 'nother story.

Guilty - but only late at night when I am quite alone on the road.
I get on a parkway...one way traffic, no stop signs, no red lights and almost always no other cars.
I check on Mom and Dad before they go to bed.
It is usually a how are you feeling and what did the doctor say kind of phone call.
Not distracting, I will see the deer standing on the road as well as running in front of me, when I have to stop or slow down.
If I am in traffic, red lights, stop signs, pedestrians.,....no I try to avoid calls at all costs.

There is no vlaid reason to drive while talking on a cell phone. We are told that if we want to talk or have to talk on one, to pull over somehwere and do the talking but not while you are driving. I think it is very dangerous and distracting to talk on the phone or send text messages while driving. you need to pay all of your attention to the road. soem phone calls are very upsetting and it can cause you to not think straight and it will cause you an accident because you become unaware of your surroundings.

I will, but not very often. Most of the time I'll just dial the phone and let the roomie talk on it if she's in the car. (she'd dial it but can't see the iPhone well enough to do so - that's why she gave it to me.)
I generally only talk on the phone when I need to give someone a heads up about something, or I need directions. I don't dial while I'm driving.

I personally don't do this and I hope that others would stop doing this because they are not only endangering their life but others as well. I don't see a clear point why this action sould be valid. Talking on the phone takes out your concentration off the road, moreover another problem that I observed is texting while driving which takes your visual off the road since you will looking on your phone to text. I just hope that countries will have law banning these actions and to penalized those who will be caught doing it.

I wish I could figure out a reason for it. I can understand with the hands free but that is the only exception for it. My thought is there is no one I need to talk to that badly that they cannot wait till I'm out of the car. Then again I can't understand why most people even have cell phones. I can wait till I get home to talk with anyone and not need to speak to them while I'm driving, shopping or anything else. Personally I'd like to see it made illegal unless it is with a voice activated, hands free style phone. Those I can at least say is no different then talking with a passenger.
