Why do we still have segregation?

Since the end of segregation, why do we still have it? For example, there is BET(Black Entertainment Television). This is a program that is on cable television geared towards African Americans. There is also Black History Month, United Negro College Fund, Black Panthers, Million Man March, Black Miss America Pageant, and many more. On the other hand, there is the Ku Klux Klan, Nazi's, etc. that still exists that is also focused on race. If we try to come together as one, and ended segregation many decades ago, why do we still feel the need to have segregated organizations?

I guess there still has to be be freedom of speech so to speak, its good to have the right but I look at it as a form of reverse discrimination, here in Australia you can't really have anything basicaaly for Australians only, but my neice went on holidays and was refused entry here in Australia to a club because you have to be Japanese to enter, so i don't understand any of this...I agree we should all become as one...

People always talk so much about how race is not important, but then there are these organizations you mention that stress race -- I don't get it. I don't knwo why people make such a big deal about race when we're all people and race is the LEAST of anyone's problems!
