Mylotters do you often put some leftovers together and really surprise yourself at how good it was?
I had a half of an onion and a small red potato plus some eggs and some frozen mixed veggies, the kind with baby corn and mushrooms plus other veggies, and I chopped up the onion and the potato quite fine and started cooking them in oil over a semi hot flame then in a short while I added the frozen veggies and cooked until they were tender=crisp then I added two eggs and cooked until the eggs were set. Then I sprinkled on some italian seasoning and some herbes de province and sat down and it was really delicious.I was happily surprised as I just more or less made up the recipe as I went along.

Mmmmm... that sounds really yummy. I often throw together some leftovers and make meals out of them. One day, I had a can of macaroni cheese in the cupboard, and nothing in the way of meat, except one sausage and some bacon.
So, I cut cooked the sausage and a couple of rashers of bacon, cut them up and put them in a bowl. Then I added the can of macaroni cheese to the bowl, sliced some mushrooms and added those, stirred it all together and put it in a dish. Then I grated cheese over the top and put it in the oven, to melt and crisp the cheese. Whilst this was cooking, I prepared and cooked some broccoli and cauliflower florets. When the macaroni, (or pasta dish) was ready, and crisped up, I removed it from the oven, then decorated around the edge with alternate broccoli and cauliflower florets. It was a very satisfying meal, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Brightest Blessings.

Kitchen creations is the most enjoyable way to cook. A spring of this, a dash of that and before you know it you've created something that they would sell at a five star restaurant. Just a word to the wise, keep a mental record of how your prepared something cause I have created fabulous dishes and forgot what I all added to it, and have not been able to recreate the intial masterpeice.

I don't usually have leftovers. We just cook the right food for everyone everyday.if there are leftovers I have it reheated and served the next day. My kids eat a lot and also my husband and there's the maid so we have enough for all to eat.

We always do that...try to experiment something out of those leftover rather than throwing them right away in the bin. There are many people nowadays that could hardly eat 3 times a day so Its not very good to just waste it plus prices of our commodities is getting higher and higher!

Yeah, I make what I call the kitchen stew, or soup. I start mixing things together, and put in certain seasonings, sometimes I put in chease with it, and man it winds up being very good.

I sometimes do this when I'm the only one at home (in my parent's house) or in my apartment. Whatever's on top of the table, if I don't like it I do something about it like getting something out of the fridge and mix it with it.
I usually recycle leftover rice with vegetables. I put whatever vegetable is there available and whatever meat to make it more taste good. Of course, I don't forget my specialty -- spicy sauce. I'm a fan of spicy foods by the way.

But lately I have not really cooked much as there is just me and I am not a big eater so it has just been what I fancy
I will be glad when the Hot Weather is back and then I can go back to my Salads as I do love my Salads
But I think I will give this a go

Yes! We do this all the time and most of the time it turns out great. Sometimes.. it isn't as good and when it is, I'm always suprised. I used to hate having left overs until I realized all the different things you can do with them.

i am not really into cooking. it is my husband who does mostly of the cooking in our house. but i love fried rice especially when mixed with leftovers. you know, leftover rice, garlic, leftover hotdog or ham, egg, leftover chicken or pork. whatever is th thr fridge!! i now someone who hates leftovers. whenever a cooked food was put inside her fridge, it will stay there until is smelled foul and gos straight to the trash can.

I've made up recipes before. Some of them have turned out good, and some of them have turned out not so good. It all depends. I made a stir fry out of shrimp, french cut green beans, mushrooms, egg whites, frozen corn and soy sauce once. It turned out good.

Thats where corned beef hash, (or red flannel hash as its sometimes called) came from. All the leftovers from a new england boiled dinner, cut up fine and cooked up in a frying pan. Served with eggs and toast..... Makes a heck of a good breakfast.
And that concoction is now sold by the can in most supermarkets.

I have done this before like with stuff I had had the night before and just put it in the 'fridge and then get it out the next day and warm it up and put it with something else that you were wanting and it usually just turns out to be pretty good but I think that we can all safely say that that isn't the only way that it can turn out lol I have also tried stuff that I thought would be pretty good and it turns out that it isn't at all...so I think that you just have to watch what you try to put together and see how it goes....

I love making a dish, out of leftovers. If I am hungry and on a tight budget, I just whip something from the freezer. Like chicken sandwich, from leftover roasted chicken. I would just flaked the chicken, mixed some mayo ,chopped onions and celery. Another would be omelette from any leftover meat dish. I just take the meat out from the sauce then add it as a topping to an omelette. Favorite would be fried rice with hotdogs or ham. It is best to use cold letover rice then saute garlic till brown then add the rice , season it with salt and pepper. If I want it to be one dish meal , I would just add chopped ham or hotdog. It is like rice in a box meal.

I do that all the time.Just use my imagination and 95% of the time it tastes good.If it doesn't then I have two dogs that get it for thier daily meal.I don't usually give them people food but if it has enough protien in it I put it in thier dish and give it to them at thier mealtime. This way stops them from begging.
