I was on an interview for shop manager. The lady who work there told me that her boss will be with me shortly. I waited for over a hour and a half, then he showed up and right in the front of me he fired the lady worker and told her that he already have her pay to give her. She ask him why he, was firing her and he told, her that she miss alot of days from work and people was complaining about her not giving good service and not pushing the shop for business. And having a bad attitude with him! It turned into a big arguement! So he told me that he will be with me shortly and they went out side with the arguement. I was very shock and felt out of place, and was hoping that it had nothing to do with me because, I was lost for words and really felt sorry for that lady worker, how disgraceful he made her feel. The boss came back inside and told me to meet him for lunch, so we can finish the interview at lunch. Then the lady came in and told me don't work for this man who fired me because, he is not professional in anything he does. I was thinking should I run or stick around to here what he have to say. I went to lunch as disgusted as I felt after the whole ordeal, and he offer me the possition of running the store and for good reason I took the job, but I told him that he was wrong in disrespecting that lady and firing her in front of me and who was in the store at the time. And that he should of fire her in priviate. What you say??

some bosses like to fire old workers and hire new workers, they can easily find a mistake to fire them.

Okay... so what are they... trying to put up a show? Yes, i agree that he has every right to fire anyone he wishes, by all means... but i think if he is actually a good person and a good employer... he would have given her a chance to explain... i think he is a bit wrong in what he did... letting all the people see and humilitated the person. that is very wrong. Also, now that you have your warning... you can try to work for the man and see how he really is.. since you need the job now.. and just weigh if you are right to be there. Decide later on and do not wait for him to do the same to you... if you think he is not okay.. leave.

He has a right to hire and fire whom ever he wishes but there is a way to do it.....He should have fired her before he called you in the office....Then made sure she was off of the properity before he called you into the office.... Since he didn't you should not feel bad because he offered you the job....But she shouldn't have been in the room when he did it...That was very unprofessional of him...... If she wasn't doing her job and missing a lot of days then it's her problem she was fired....And you were right in taking the job....Good luck in your new job.

Judging how the employer treats the lady that she fired from job, it is very unprofessional of him. He should have at least give the employee a graceful exit and not to be humiliated in front of another person. I admire you for telling him that he should not do that to the lady. Well, what can I say but goodluck to your new job and hope that it will work fine between you and your boss. :=)
