What Is The Best Way You Have Found To Promote Your Business

whether it be in Sales like Avon, Mary Kay, Amway, Xango, Jerky Direct, MiaBella Candles, etc. or something Free you can join and do such as myLot and your PTC programs? Do you place Ads, get your Business, and referrals thru word of mouth, send off Emails, get them via Chat Rooms, or what? I know there are a lot of ways out there, and I have found some things I have tried over time work better than others.
Just was interested in seeing what others have done. Since we are having the referral contest here in myLot it might help give others some ways to get some New referrals in here as well. Looking forward to hearing and learning more.

Myspace has been my best referral tool so far. I have not had the response from anywhere else like myspace. I still have people contact me a few times a week about my vacation business. I'm not even sending out the bulletins like I was. I sent out a bulletin about mylot too and got a few new referrals on here. I'm really not interested in the referral contest. O and yahoo answers has given me some referrals. I love answering the questions on there.

I promote different things in a variety of ways but would say I've gotten the best response from simple web pages on my site which pulls nicely on the major search engines - the big key is providing content that will attract people interested in your product.
