Answered prayers. Do you have one?

There was a time when we were really poor. It was difficult back in the Philippines, as there were times when we had to literally put up with hunger. Trying to figure a way to eat was tough. Really tough. Because my siblings and I had to be schooled all at the same time, we had to sacrifice a lot of things just to be able to finish studies; and many times, we had to sacrifice being provided with the basic necessities in life (because that's what mom's provision could provide). That, including food; as indeed buying rice to put forward our table was very very difficult.
I remember, one time, my youngest brother prayed to God and wished that one day, our family would no longer 'buy' rice so we can be aleviated from at least from that difficult part of life.
And I think God answered his prayer.
Many years after realizing that my father's modest job at a small rice dealing company of his sister made him brought home a few sacks of rice, one after another, we thought that our brother's prayer was already answered by God.
And we realized that for the last 12 years or so, we hadn't bought rice from the store anymore, and we were even able to distribute rice to our neighbors when they knock at our door for help.
God is indeed great. He answers prayers. And He answers our prayer 'full measure and flowing over.'
How about you? Any story of God answering your prayer?
I'm sure it's worth reading.

Wow, I am so happy for you and that God answered your prayers in this regard. I know how it is because I grew up in a family that did not have a lot of money and we sometimes found it hard to buy groceries at times. It definitely makes one appreciate what they have now!
I too had a major prayer answered by God. After being divorced from a man who abused me both physically and mentally for almost three years, I prayed that I would find a person to spend my life with, who would treat me excellent.
That prayer was definitely answered for me because my husband now is so great to me and is the most wonderful and devoted husband. He is understanding, loving and extremely caring toward me and I know I have God to thank for him....

awww...that story is very touching. God does indeed answer prayers said with a sincere heart, however great they may be. When I was in my last year of high school I experienced a few things that made me question God. I was a christian at the time and believed that most of the people I knew were going to hell. I was sobbing uncontrolably because I did not understand how God could let that happen if He was so powerful, why did He not do anything to save those people. Why did He create people so different and then make only one way the right way when it is impossible to expect that people of such diverse backgrounds believe in the Bible. I gave up on God at that point because I believed it was clear that God did not love us. However, God still answered my prayer by guiding me to the Baha'i Faith the next year. I finally recieved all of the answers I had been seeking and I am so grateful and overjoyed to know that God loves all people and has sacrificed so much for us all and all will come to know God in time and the kingdom of heaven will be established on earth!

Then I am happy for the person who have eventually come out to become because of that experience. Many times, legitimate doubt leads us to truth, but only when we are sincere about it. The light at the end of the tunnel is indeed promised for those whose faith is tested, and whose heart is unrelenting to see to real score.
Thanks for posting.

Oh My! that is just wonderful! God is indeed a good God. I know he does answer prayers! He hear the most sincere hearts and yes, it is always true that when we pray to him he answers them and even gives us more than we expected.
Mine was almost the same with you. back in my college days, it was a bit difficult for me going to college and having to go to college with my brother made it even harder for my mom. Our business went down the drain about 5 years after my dad left, my mom was broke, but she tried everything, we tried everything to make ends meet. I remember we would buy a pack of instant noodles and all 4 of us would eat 1 pack of noodles everyday just to get by... my mom would put several water i could not even taste anything, or if that was food at all. We moved from one place to another, not able to pay rentals... the worst was when we have to live in 1 room, we could not even get our legs straigt while sleeping! it was hard all the time...
When i graduated college, had a job and slowly things are getting better for us.. i asked God to bless us, to help us get out of that bad situation and he didtake us out of it, and has put us in a better position now.
My brother would be walking about 1 kilometer to get home, or he would ask the jeepney driver that he would call passengers so he could get a free ride... now he is riding a taxi to work everyday! my older brother was given a car by his company...
We only have noodles and plain rice for a meal before, now we get to have anything we want - excluding some overpriced restos, hehe, you see how God changes everything if we ask for it, work for it, and is patient about it.
Right now, i am happy that God has provided us a better shelter.. but i know he will soon give us a house we can call our own, a big bank account savings, and a chance to tour the world. Slowly, but surely... God will provide them. If that happens, mylotters you'll be the first to know :D

In no way can we therefore doubt that God is in control of everything even when our lives seem to loose control. It's just amazing isn't it. Whenever we suffer and pray to God for help, he is sure to help. Maybe not in an instant; maybe not thereafter. But surely there is a God is there to respond. Our prayers are landing on a deaf ear. It land on the lap of a God who is all compassion, and nothing less.
Thanks for sharing.

I believe in prayers. It really helps and God really answers even the hardest ones. I have requested for a lot of things in life..he does answers when you pray deeply in your heart. I know this is really crazy but when I was young I loved to read the Archie comics. I prayed to God so hard that I want to marry a guy named archie.. Guess what? lol..yes I married a guy named archie...When our relationship was suffering I prayed to God to stop it because I can't take anymore..I am so weak and hopeless but I prayed hard. We are now getting back with our relationship and it's much better...Once I also prayed that I want to have a bit of more in life. Now I have a very good job..I have enough of everything. I know God watches all of us and he knows our needs even the weirdest ones we ask he try to give as long as it is not bad.

I'm not quite particularly sure how you define 'no' for an unanswered prayer. I don't know where you're coming from. I mean, of course, there are prayers which will be unanswered, or that their answers lie not how we expect them to be. God knows better than our strongest desires do. He surely is there to figure how and when things are appropriately well for us.
Certainly, prayers which are aimed at harming others or wishing others ill are not for God to answer. When we pray, we always are in a dialogue with the plan of God for us. It's a process of asking for something, and opening yourself up to how God wants it to be in return. It's not a one way 'I want this, I want that' babble.
Share your story. It may not really be a no answer. Probably, a 'later' or 'something else.'

God does answer prayers, if you pray with all your heart. I guess if prayer didn't work, people would have realized that by now and would have given up on it. The fact that it's still as actual today as it was thousands of years ago is the best proof that it is one of the things that will always work.
