Kimberly Clark Scandal

A friend of mine sent me a link to the greenpeace website. They are claiming that Kimberly Clark doesn't use recycled forest in their paper products. The main claim is that Kimberly Clark uses trees from the Boreal forest, which Greenpeace says is the world's last largest forest. I'm just wondering how this was even allowed to happen in the first place. I tried searching on Google to see if it's one of those urban legend things, but I couldn't find anything. So I checked out Greenpeace further. I don't usually buy Kimberly Clark products so I'm glad to find out I haven't been contributing to this. I'll definitely be paying more attention to what I do and don't buy, that's for sure. Greenpeace had a little pdf file to download where they listed all the brands you should buy and all the brands you should not buy. 98% of the brands listed that I should buy, I have never heard of, have never seen in my local grocery stores. The brands I recognize and see in my stores are the ones I should not buy. This is another pet peeve of mine. It seems that any product that is environmentally friendly is either highly overpriced or only available online. It seems to me that these companies are more concerned with making money and being exclusive than taking the time to make sure their product reaches small town America.

Well thankfully I haven't used Kleenex products for a long time and do used brands that are known for they're use of recycled paper products like Marcal. Sorry, I'm a bit teed off with Greenpeace though, they totally lost my respect with a recent revelation I discovered which makes them sound like the biggest hypocrites going and I started a discussion about it which you can read here http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1454823.aspx I mean yes, great, Greenpeace on the one hand is bringing to awareness of the destruction of the Boreal Forests by Kimberly-Clark..yet sanction killing kangaroos, no longer care about the seal hunters killing baby seals, or are no longer against trophy hunters who kill polar bears...gee, does that makes sense?????
