that is exactly why I asked people have very different notions on what those words mean and some use them interchangeably,
you cannot have a good conversation if you are not even talking about the same thing.

Quotations:
bullet "The world of imagination and fantasy can help pass on to the child cultural and social messages [and] function as a way to experience vicariously things an individual could not do first-hand." C. Aminadav, International Journal of Adolescent Medicine & Health. 1995 APR-JUN, 8: Pages 103-106.
bullet "The Bible is clear about issues such as witchcraft, demons, devils and the occult...they are real, powerful and dangerous. Throughout it insists that God's people should have nothing to do with them." Carol Rookwood, Principal, St. Mary's Island School in Kent, UK
bullet "Harry’s magic is of an entirely different nature from real-world witchcraft: 'Harry and his friends cast spells, read crystal balls, and turn themselves into animals—but they don't make contact with a supernatural world.' " Lindy Beam of Focus on the Family, quoting Chuck Colson, a popular Christian author. 3
bullet "The books are set in surroundings involving sorcery and witchcraft. WE STRONGLY CONDEMN THESE WRITINGS AS THEY ARE FULL OF WITCHCRAFT AND SORCERY. The Bible is strong in its condemnation of these things." G.T. Armstrong 1

Having studied it, along with other beliefs, I don't think it is a bad thing. I would presume that people who consider it to be dangerous are not in possession of the facts or have a religious doctrine which tells them to believe it is bad. But really, it depends on what sort of Witchcraft it is. I am sure that most who practice it do so in a good way and only do it to help people. There are, however, people who perform "black magic" which, if you believe, is dangerous.
Generally, I don't have a problem with Witchcraft. It is simply part of some people's religion and for others it isn't even that. In a way, I consider it like praying. It's simply a different method of asking for help from a higher power.

I believe witchcraft is a wonderful thing, if practiced for the good of all, harming none. You probably even know someone that practices witchcraft. I myself have not begun to practice witchcraft but it is certainly on my agenda for learning.
Blessed Be, Mari

I dont think it is fact or fiction. I think there are alot of misconceptions. I have had some freaky experiences with witchcraft when i was younger. I think that people dont understand what they are doing, making magic dangerous, i think it is more the changing of karma and energies than anything specific. I think it should be left to the experienced.

men... if you are practicing it, you are worshiping a demon.. the exchange of power is your soul.. i dont want to go in hell. remember the this world is just temporary and in fact the prince of the world is satan. so he can give you anything if power you want he will give you but your soul is heirs.
