I don't agree with this. If people are only around if you have money, they are using you and are not friends.
There are tons of shallow people out there and I often look at men like Donald Trump and believe that if he didn't have loads of money, he wouldn't have a trophy wife on his arm or all the adoration from young models and actresses.
They are just gold diggers looking for sugar daddy.
Sad but true in my opinion.

I dont agree
You dont need money to have friends. If your so called friends are only around when you have money then they are only using you and not really friends at all.
I have friends and theres ots of times im totally broke. Not having money just means you cant go out and do a bunch of really expensive stuff. but you can still hang out talk, watch tv etc.

Both agree and disagree - your friends are your friends and most don't care if you have money, but it is hard to get together when with your friends when you can't pay your own bar tab - LOL! And since you wouldn't want them to foot the bill, you end up missing out on gatherings, or you may not get invited if they know financially you can't afford to join them.

Welcome to Mylot. I don't agree with that at all. People who like you only if you have money, are very shallow and are most likely users. I don't have a lot of money, but I have a lot of friends.
If your "friends" don't like you if you are broke.. you need to find real friends who love you for who you are

i dont agree with this. Friendship has nothing to do with money. i have had couple of friends who were not financially very strong but they never asked for money from me even if they needed and they were ready to pay the bill if we have had cofee or snacks in a restaurant. i believe that if people who become your friends for money are not friends and will never be helpful when you need them

agree more or less. If you have a true friend he don't care about your money. But I agree that what you say is a true most the times. It has happened with me. Some time a go I've been in a very hard situation and suddendly I have no friends any more! Well, now I'm trying to get some new friends. Maybe some of these can be a true friend...

I don't agree w/ that. money was no object in making or having friends. i have some friends that are below average class but i accept them for who they are and because our interest in some things are almost similar. besides, some people who have money are plastic, so i'd rather befriend people who doesn't have money

That's so nonsense. We don't buy a friend so it doesn't matter if we don't have money...
