are men predisposed to be polygamous?

i just finished reading a book entitled why men don't listen and women can't read maps
there are actually a lot of discussion-worthy arguments in that book but i'll start of with this one
it claims that because of how we evolved and what we evolved from, the male of our species are naturally polygamous
i personally believe its a choice. i think both the male and the female of the species can choose to wander or to stick to one
(i cannot be partners though with someone who has cheated on a commitment)
maybe we are all predisposed to be something but i'd rather that we also recognize that we do have free will
what do you think?

I do think that some people are naturally polygamous. However, I don't think it's more likely to men or women who are inclined that way. Of all the polyamrous communities I've observed, there are just as many women as there are men.
