Own or rent?

I just bought my own house. An apartment. I prefer my own house.

There are benefits to both; renting you are not obligated to stay there and owning you know that its your house, and you dont have to answer to anyone about changes you make in the house. We are staying with my mom for now, we plan on moving out this summer or fall.

we own and i like it better b/c i can do anything i want to the house without permission and i feel like we're putting our money towards something

Owning a house is actually better than renting a house. With renting you give your money to a landlord and never see much in return. With owning a home your property will most likely appreciate and making improvements will also increase the value.

Own always try to own. Build up your equity not someone elses". I do home loans for a living and hate to see how much $$ people throw away on renting when they can invest it in thier own home and have something to fall back on, take cash out of, tax breaks and so on. Especially if you have children.

It would depend on your situation. In some areas, the real estate is just too high, so ppl will have to rent instead. Personally, if I can afford it I would rather own my house than rent. ~Remember to give out +'s when it's deserved & select best responses. It helps us all out ;-]

We own our home. But as to what is best choice owning vs renting ... I would think it is a personal preference.

im renting but buying is better then your money is going some where not making someone else rich
