As an apartment manager, I had to assist with a physical eviction this last week. There was a large freezer left in the unit, FILLED with food. Steak, ribs, roasts, biscuits, breads, veggies, deserts, and leftovers. In the cabinets, I found noodles, spagetti, tons of different canned goods, and mixes.
I had the grandest time giving this to several different families that I knew were having a hard time making ends meet. Theirsmiles made it worth all the effort involved:)

What about the family being evicted? Weren't they in need? Was there something wrong that made it so that they couldn't pay their rent? I don't know. That almost seems like you're robbing peter, to help paul. Just dosen't seem entirely right.

These were 3 adults that took advantage of the owner. They could very easily pay their rent. They rented 6 out of state shipping lockers for the things they wanted to take with them. Then, 2 of them left. The 3rd stayed behind, and trashed the unit. Food everywhere, cat feces, filth...There was actual cobwebs all over the place! Furniture was broken and up-ended, as were dishes. Holes were in walls, and the carpets were badly stained and burnt.
I gave the stuff left to the needy. There was no robbing from Peter to pay Paul I assure you. I'm not that type of person.

Thats really nice. We recently have been helping my husbands cousin. her husband had gotten them into some sort of trouble and had them move suddenly to get away and left all their stuff behind. then he took off and left her with their kids, almost starving. she was only eating one meal a day so that her kids had enough to eat. so she moved back to the area with her kids with nothing. I gave her all the clothes my kids had grown out of, furniture we had extra off and any food we could spare.

I helped someone just a few hours ago... I am working as a network administrator and my team handle the online availability of our branches. Branch personnel calls us to help them whenever they have a problem with the branches system. But it's a lot different from helping others from doing your work...he he.... Every two months I give one and a half sack of rice to unfortunate families... But I'm looking for some organization to join because I want to experience building houses for the poor or making a charity work.

I like to help others! It is good and helps us to see what our lives could be like if things were worse! I volunteer whenever I can also as it helps me to have something to do and help others at the same time! It is good that you helped feed some families that needed food! I donate to freecycle and I get ued items through freecycle.org, and that helps people too! Both the giver and the receiver have been helped!
