Hi Sabilla!
...i think my husband will contact you. He is Dutch but work now as trucker in Canada-USA and find it ...kind of "different" than in Europe!
- 1 liter of gas in Holland is 2.35$cnd !!
- in Quebec: 1.24$cnd !! ...and, we complain LOL
Good day! dania

I have heard that they are considering a strike, but have not heard a definate date set yet. Personally, I think they should strike. Sure, it will make things tough on consumers for a while but the price of diesel keeps going up daily. And every time I go to the grocery store the prices go up a little more on every item because of the cost of shipping. Some how we need to put a stop to the rising fuel costs and maybe if none is sold for a while the gas companies will back off. As long as they can get whatever price they ask there is no end in sight. Lets hit them in their own pockets for a change and get their attention.

Hello Dania12,
Yes, truckers have proposed a 'shut-down' to begin on Tuesday, 4/1/08. I posted a discussion about this, and provided the details from a news story. You can read the details here:

Sorry, I know that we're not supposed to link to another discussion in our responses, though it's a rather long story. So, I think it's wiser to direct you to the full posting.
Hope this helps! And, for those who require necessities like medication or special foods, it is impossible to determine which retailers will be affected. So, it's probably best to get those necessities tomorrow.
