your laptop maybe slow if it has low memory on it...the ideal memory size to use for windows vista is one gigabytes of memory if it has lower than one gigabytes then your computer will work very very slow...or if your on the internet, your internet connection maybe at fault...there is a lot of things that makes a computer work slow much better if you can give us more details so we can help you better...

True, a memory upgrade is probably the answer. I don't see why a celeron processor would make a difference. I am running vista on a celeron processor with no problems. If you have less than 1GB, you definately want to get more, I would reccommend 2GB.

yasmin----------most probably the culprit is your internet connection,if its not stable then chances are you will get a sluggish response from your computer...if you notice that its works fast when not browsing the net then it is most probably ther main reason, your internet connection....

I don't know much about computers and I am having similar problems with mine. A lot of people on here responded with suggestions and it was nice. My nephew told me part of my problem was I had too many windows open and trying to run too many things for the amount of ram I had. None of that made any sense to me so I will be reinstalling the operating system as soon as I can find an English version. Good luck with that.

I think I spend too much time in here as well. I just wish I could get motivated to do something else since I have so much homework to do. The guy that was going to help me didn't come by yet so I don't know when I will get this working better. Have a great day!!!

A celeron processor may be part of the problem. You may want to turn off all the pretty things Windows does. The celeron processor does not process graphics well therefore it lags. Also how much RAM do you have? You need at least 2GB of RAM. If not may as well install Windows XP on it. I hate how the computer retailers try and sell computers that have Vista with less than 2GB RAM. If you need help turning off the graphic stuff then I can give you directions once I get home and can look at mine.

the reason your computer is so slow is because you have a celeron processor. you are going to have problems until you upgrade the processor. you could try upgrading to 2 gig ram...i'm sorry that's probably not what you wanted to hear but a celeron and 1 gig of ram is not going to run vista...you could try going to xp that might help too...
