Do you have a ritual of eating the same meal the same day each week?
When I was growing up sunday was roast chicken, roast pork, or roast beef day, there was always a roast in the oven.
Our neighbours had spaghetti every thursday evening for supper.
The catholics eat fish every friday
Do you eat the same meal on the same day each week?

To have the same meal on the same day each week is not a coincidence. To be frank, my meals are rather ritual daily. I have peanut butter sandwich in the morning. Lunch is rice and dishes, and I tend to stick to the same dishes until I just need to show my face and the hawker knows what to prepare. The only variation is dinner which is the decision of the cook at home.

Heard it for first time such a thing. Why to have fixed menus? Eat what you want ! What you enjoy! Thier minds are already fixed why to fix menus??

No we don't. We go with what we feel like eating or sometimes eat leftovers but it is never the same week after week. We might have hamburgers once a week but we never have them on the same day as the week before. Growing up and living at home I don't recall eating the same hting week after week either. I know it was alot of garden foods though. That is interesting how some can have it week after week all the same things. Me, I would get kinda sick of the sme thing over and over. I htink my mother in law though basically cooked the same thing over and over sometimes in the same week.

We are not on a schedule. My husband is a teriffic cook, and can be extremely spontaneous. We also live right across the street from a really good groccery store, so we can get anything we want anytime we want it.

I don't cook or I should say I don't cook very well. My husband does all the cooking. To have the same thing each week on a certain day is hard, because we can't remember what we ate on that day last week, . Plus my husband works nights, so on his days off he cooks and cooks enough for left overs.

I never know what I am having until a few hours before I eat. I think, as a child I remember Mom or Grandma doing this.
I do make menus up when I get groceries. I just never think to use them.

Yes we sort of have a ritual of eating the same meal every same day of the week (well almost). Thanks to my grandma, we always have what we call Kare-Kare. Its a soup with pork or beef meat with lots of vegetables such as banana blossom, eggplant, beans, etc. and colored with Atsuete and crushed peanut and sauteed raw rice which was ground to thicken the sauce. It taste delicious with shrimp paste as seasoning on the side.
We always love it as my grandma cooks it deliciously and also because not only it have vegetables and meat in one dish, itw very nutritious. It is also always a fare in our reunions and my grandma cooks that always as her pot lock meal.
