One problem is that when i switch on the power i am not able to start my pc soon. But after switching on power, it takes almost 10 minutes to start. Second problem is my PC gets power off automatically sometime. Is it hardware problem or my OS problem... I am using Win XP and my PC is Pentium-4. Pls any idea about that?

I agree with chumin, better let a qualified techguy/friend to look into your CPU, I suspect its your processor fan that has the problem, if its not functioning then probably your processor is toast. I hope not ):

Most probably something wrong with the power supply or motherboard. Check the motherboard for any bulging capacitors.SInce your pc is quite old,try to wip off the dust at the fan on top of your processor. As dust gather there,it can cause the processor to be overheated and cause instability in your system.

Are you getting any error messages before your PC turns off? If not, you could just have a virus.
