how does it affect you? Does it hold you back from doing things that you really want? I know that I can research this on the net, but thought it would be nice to hear from people that has it or know someone that has it. Thanks in advance.

Its basicly a disease of the nerve endings. They miss fire causing pain all the time. Its like when your leg falls asleep and you get that tingly pricking sensation. Only it dosent go away its like that all the time. I do know somedays people with it cant even get out of bed its so painfull. Even simple chores are hard to do. I do also know that they have a new medicine that helps with the pain and nerves. Hope this helps a little. ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper

Yes I have Fibromyalgia. I used to be very active and clean and neat as a pin. Then one day my body was causing pain and I felt so tired. I felt sore. My doctor did some tests and told me I have Fibromyalgia. I was like what is that. Well that was 15 years ago. I have had to learn to pace myself. I have days I hurt all over and so tired. I have Fibro-fog and feel like I am in a daze. If I over due or travel long trips without frequent stops I get Fibro Freeze. Which is a condition that I am in such accute pain I literally cannot move a muscle for several minutes even when my mind is telling them to move. This lasts up to 15 minutes and is very scary. This happened to me once at K-Mart. I had to just stand as though frozen and it was so painful, finally I could move and my husband was with me and took me home to rest. Rest and Exercise walking but not over doing help and swimming when able in warm water. Hot baths all help. But I have good days and bad days. Good days I get as much done as possible. Bad days everything slides. There are times if I take my meds, am rested and exercise without over doing that it goes into remisson for weeks or months. But when it comes back it is usually with a vengence. Cold weather is much harder on me than warmer weather. I have tender spots all over my body. They are sore to the touch.

How did you Dr. diagnose you so fast?? I have been from Dr. to Dr. and had multiple tests. I know the pain is real and I have every symptom of Fibromyalgia. What would you recommend?

What a debilitating sickness firbromyalgia is. Does it hold me back? Like one of the answers below, I used to accomplish so much, but it holds me back mentally more often than physically. The brain fog and feeling of wanting to just go to sleep at times makes it difficult to accomplish household tasks. I cannot decide things and have held onto for lack of being able to decide what should go or stay. So often I walk away and just leave it because I can't deal. Since taking a good vitamin therapy, I am functioning much better, When the shingles hit, all I want to do is sleep. I had a head injury after an accident which really brought on the fibromyalgia, so I feel it has given me a big dissability. I know this and I stuggle with myself to over come my issues. I try to be upbeat and fun and I think this get me beyond the pain.
