I love the CSI series. They are so fun to watch and are like doing step by step puzzles. I love trying to figure out who did what before they can. Sometimes I’m right and sometimes I’m not but I still have fun trying.
I think I’d make a great CSI. I’m naturally curious, I’m very organized for the most part, I love puzzles and mysteries, not to mention that I think I’d get a great deal of satisfaction in catching the bad guys. Oh, and I don’t get grossed out easily.
I especially like Sara in CSI Vegas b/c she is smart without being a smart aleck about it and she’s really down to earth. I also like Calleigh in Miami b/c she is really smart without looking like it and has no problem holding her own around the men.
Do you think you’d make a good CSI? If given the chance, would you pursue it that field? For you, what part would be the most fun for you? Which character’s do you associate with the most?

I hadn't finished my answer and posted it...oops! Yes, if given the chance i'd loooove to pursue this career! In fact, i had asked for some info on Crime Scene Investigation in one of those "study at home" places, but unfortunately, it was too expensive for me, or else i would be studying that right now.

Real CSI work is tedious and methodical. These are not my strong points. Additionally, you have to put up with lawyers claiming you are either a liar or an incompetant all the time in court. I just don't need all of that in my life. So, I would not make a good CSI.

See, I like tedious and methodical. I also like organizing and doing paperwork...I'm nuts that way. I hadn't thought about the ones questioning your skills but then again they probably would in hopes of getting their client off.
Thanks for responding!!

Maybe it would also be fun to write some of the series. I imagine the writers base the shows in part on actual news items in the real world. They are really great shows and I love it when I can sit and watch 3-4 in a row.

No, I would not make a good CSI, but I love the show and watching others solve the puzzle, but rarely do I get it before they do..My husband and daughter on the other hand, usually guesses how it will turn out..

I would really enjoy this career and hunt for the clues while the show is airing. There are times when its clear that the police have the wrong person and the evidence is able to get the person that committed the crime. I would feel good knowing I was able to help make a difference in other people's lives.
I eat meals while the show is on, so you know that the scenes don't affect my appetite. The person I think I'm most like is Grissom, as he won't stop until the work is done. He looks at the tracks and is able to learn a lot from them. I would look at the tracks also to get clues.

We often have dinner as well while watching it...no gross out problems. Every once in a while they will throw a new twist into the mix and things won't be what I thought but other than that I can usually figure it out with them or before them. Grissom really is great...a little too quiet but still great.

I'm totally with you on the reasons you'd make a good CSI, as I possess those same traits, and I feel the same way about it too. The only thing that would keep me from all of this is the science part of it, which is a big chunk of what it's really about. Plus real CSI stuff isn't as glamorous as on TV. Stuff takes longer to process because no one CSI lab has ALL of that equipment, also, you wouldn't be doing everything, just one task (fingerprints, handwriting analysis, etc.) not like on the show.
I relate the most to Grisolm because he's his own person and doesn't hang with the others. He's pretty quiet and keeps to himself. He's a bit odd, but a nice, honest person, for a guy. I'd love to be more like Sarah but right now I seem to be more shy like her replacement.

I always thought my hubby would make a great CSI especially as Grissom. He's detailed like that when it comes to his job and is very thorough. He is also smart and very analytical when it comes to finding a solution to a problem.
I love the show too and watch all the old shows severtal times a week.

I would probably make a better detective than a CSI. I don't do "gross". The crime scenes are bad enough. But give me a puzzle to solve and I will do it. If the guilty character is introduced during the crime solving, I usually pick the guilty party before the end of the show. It's more difficult when the character hasn't been introduced though. Then we follow the evidence to get them.
Warrick is my favorite character on the original CSI. He was involved in some nasty stuff before the strike. Remember the stripper that he was accused of killing? He is going after the club owner, but he may be wrong. We shall see!. It starts new tonight, I cannot wait.

If I could do the computer Geek stuff like the Goth girl on NCSI (the Navy one), that would be fun. At least she sure makes it seem like that. Autopcies would gross me out. Take care

I love CSI! I'm pretty cluey when it comes to crime solving, but have decided to leave the tedious collection of evidence to those who have better eyes than mine. Can't work in certain lighting situations. I'm pretty good at profiling and the psychology behind crimes, and will be studying this in the next few years. Oh, it will be a double degree in Criminology and Forensicology. Can't really have one without the other! lol.

As much as I enjoy the csi show I wouldn't make a good csi because I cannot deal with blood and get grossed out easily. I also couldn't deal with the emotional side of it. Seeing what certain people went through, how bad it was for them. The only thing I would enjoy about it would be catching the bad guys and I do like mysteries but my stomach couldn't handle it.

I would be a hopeless CSI! I am not very observant and I got a demo of the CSI computer game but I can only get so far into it before I get stuck and can't get any further. They have some hints but I still can't get it. I love Grissam because he is the strong silent type, a thinker. I suppose I am a bit like him, if I have a problem I just quietly think and sometimes go off an do something else and suddenly the answer will come to me.

Before my retirement I was a Fraud Investigator for Medicare and I LOVED it. It was so satisfying when I was able to prove that many members of the medical profession were using older people to steal medicare funds. The biggest mistake these people made was thinking just because a person is old it does not mean they are stupid. They underestimated just how smart some older people are.

I love the series too sweety - especially when there are really horrible things on and my eldest decides he would rather go to bed (he hates blood and even when he knows it is fake he feels ill) and I get some peace and don't have to nag him to go to bed at a decent time! lol I am quite good at sussing out who did what in the programmes but I know I wouldn't make a good csi, I am not organised and some of the situations they have to investigate would make me physically ill! xxx
