How many cans/bottles do you drink a day?? I only drink around 2, but my husband drinks about 8 a day. Is that too much??? Is there such a thing as too much pop??

Hi, I probably only have a couple glasses (small ones) a day, and they are almost always diet, and always caffiene free. I used to drink more than a litre of coke a day, but found the caffiene gave me really bad headaches!
Is he drinking caffienated ones? All the sugar's probably not doing him much good

It is too much only if your husband is not drinking diet. He may be fine with it now but as he ages and his metabolism slows, those "empty" calories will really put on weight. If it is diet, the only real drawback is that dark sodas can discolor the teeth but routine cleanings help to minimize it. The other issue is caffeine...if it gives him trouble sleeping. I drink a lot of soda too but it is all I drink and it has 0 calories so it is not an issue. I also drink caffeine-free as I am prone to migraines and caffeine can be a trigger. (I'm an R.N.)

i rarely drink soda
but 8 a day is kinda too much
it's better to drink that much of mineral water than soda.
i dont think it's healthy to drink that much

that is way too much for one day how can he handle 8 cups of coffee a day? I'm jumping off the walls with just 2, and it's 1am and im stiil up LOL. But seriously, the carbonation in soda swells up ur stomach and causes bloating, and is also not good for you. have ur husband try to drink equal amounts of water to try to balance everything out.

Whoa, that's way too much! If it's not diet, the sugar content is around 17 teaspoonfuls per can! The caffeine content is also pretty high...
Even if it IS diet, carbonation and whatnot erodes tooth enamel, it depletes calcium stores, and it can prevent calcium that you intake from being absorbed. There are MANY bad things about pop, but these are the ones I can drum up without research.
