The only musical instrument I tried to learn was a guitar. Well, when I was just 10 my mom enrolled me in the school Rondalia, some sort of band where string intruments are played. I never learned it back then coz I was never interested. I have always wanted to play the piano but I had no opportunity to do so. We had no piano back then and it was in my grandma's house. Its my frustration to learn to play the piano but then at my age, I hope its not still late as my mom learned to play it only when he was 58!
So do you play any musical instrument? What instrument do you play?

My older brother was into bands when he was in highschool, i kinda liked the songs he has on his player so i was a bit interested in what he was doing too. he's got a guitar and a set of drums. i did try to learn guitar with my bestfriend. i gave up when i had my thumb swollen and had blisters all over. haha
My mom, being supportive gave me piano lessons, enrolled my at yamaha school of music and i reached to grade 4, and have had 2 private piano tutors. :)
when i was in highscool i learned how to play flute too. i had 2 recorders soprano, and sopranino recorders and i play them with our school orchestra. :)

Wow thats nice and sorry to hear your blistered thumb. You mom must have been proud of you and you must be good in reaching Grade 4 in piano. Good work!

Guitar, piano/keyboard, trumpet and clarinet are the instruments I've learned, though I mostly stick to the first two these days.

I have learned to play many instruments.
I began taking piano lessons when I was 8.
Then took up trumpet at age ten. During Jr
high I learned all the brass instruments -
trombone, euphonium, french horn, and even the tuba
and sousaphone. I learned to play clarinet and flute,
and tried saxophone. At thirteen I got my first real
guitar and taught myself to play. Guitar was followed
by the classical stringed instruments - viola, cello, and stringed bass. In high school I played trumpet in
the orchestra and marching band, and played string bass and both electric bass and guitar in the jazz band. I also played lead guitar and bass in several rock bands.
I still play guitar, and still have that first guitar I bought 30 years ago, an Aria six string with rosewood neck and back and a spruce top and bracing.

Wow you really got to learn a lot of musical instruments there! I guess when you learn a string instrument, its easy to learn the others as well as learning a wind instrument. Keep it up... wonder what you will learn next...

The first instrumrent I ever played was the sax. Then I went to the trumpet. As I got older I played the tuba and trombone. When I got into high school I took panio and guitar. I stoped playing all together for too many years and returned to teaching myself how to play the guitar again when my first daughter was born 5 years ago. She loves it so much that she got her own guitar for christmas last year.

I came from an under priviledged family we could never afford an instrument or lessons for me to learn. I always waned to be like middle class kids and play the piano but it never happened.

Hi gabrielle! Well, I was able to learn to play the piano years ago. Unfortunately, I don't play anymore. My dad wanted my brother and I to learn how to play the piano since I could remember. My brother lasted for years though and he got to play in the recital. I, on the other hand only played for months. LOL.

I learned to play the piano when I was about 5 years old, starting poking notes and what not lol. Then as I grew older, I tried copying things I heard on the radio, things I heard in choir class...now i play by ear, I can play these songs:
Think Of Me: Phantom of the Opera
Music of the Night: Phantom of the Opera
My Immortal: Evanescence
Breathe no More: Evanescence
My Heart will go On: Titanic theme - Caline Dion
Ode to Joy, Symphony 9 - Beethoven
The Water is Wide - (sang in choir)
This is My Song - (sang in choir)
Amazing Grace/ Pacabel's Canon - (sang in choir)
And I wrote my own song, called "Temple of Tantrums" usually played on the electric keyboard on Synth. Strings 3 using the "negative" notes, or D and it's matches... I taught myself alot. Right now I'm learning to play Never Alone by the Barlow Girls. so..YES I PLAY BY EAR... it's tough. Father never payed attention... OR for lessons :)

I learned piano back then. And the music school had some extra (minor) instrument lessons and I took violin.
Piano is difficult but I think violin is the most difficult instrument all over the world of Western music instrument.
I love guitar too, but my fingers couldn’t stand the strings of guitar, perhaps my fingers had played too much piano keys and the tips of my fingers just got too sensitive with hard strings.

Started with piano when I was like 5 or 6. My brother turned out to be a prodigy at it. I moved to violin at age 7. He continued with piano. I dropped violin after a year but then my mom made me pick it back up again at age 10 or so. Have played ever since. My daughters want to learn so I will be teaching them myself.
I did play clarinet for a very short time in grade school or Jr high. Not sure which. My 10 year old is taking percussion lessons. And both girls got learner's guitars for christmas

Although i love singing, i never learned playing any musical instrument. My brother tried to teach me how to play a guitar but due to many assignments and school activities, he can not teach me full time, thats why i never mastered playing a guitar. :-)
I remember when i was in elementary i asked my mom if i could join the piano lesson club in school but due to lack of budget my mom did not allowed me. i have an interest in learning before but was not prioritize. so i think now if i'm gonna have an opportunity learn any musical instrument i will try to learn it. :-)

I play keyboard since i were 10 years old!
I also wanted to learn piano but our home was too small to have space for piano!
Its never late to learn new things , also piano!
But i have to tell you that keyboard are a lot easier from piano :)
But anyway the only stuff that you need is a teacher, a piano and to love music!
I wish you good luck!
