For me the best anti virus is kaspersky and AVG Free Edition. This 2 anti virus will help a lot to fight against various trojan virus in my computer. And help a lot to secure all my important files in my computer.

I use avasti and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It is free. I've gotten some good ideas here for other programs that I might just try to add a second layer of protection.

I've started using PC-cillin from TrendMicro 8 years ago and it works fine. I also tried Norton anti-virus however it takes a lot of my computer resources such as memory and processor cycle. The latest version of Norton anti-virus has improved and it has less impact in terms of slowing down the performance of your computer. Right now I'm using free anti-virus such as Avast and AVG.

For me I guess AVG antivirus is the best..I had Avast earlier but there were some trojans which i couldn't detect and remove using Avast.. But when i installed Avg it detected at the first scan.. I'm not saying that Avast is not good.. It might have been that I hadn't properly updated it.:) have fun !!

AVG free version is awesome The two times I've used one of the so-called better versions, I ended up with massive problems with my computer that only a technician could fix. I will never use Norton or McAfee again. I've been using AVG for several years now and have never had an issue whatsoever. I know techies in the business that say it's one of the best too.
