Some people think you have to have all the good things in life, for it to be good,Well I think as long as your happy and have friends and family your already blessed, because some people aren't that blessed as I think when you having a bad day or moment just think someone is having a worse one,and do you think you have to have material things in your life to be happy?
They are nice to have, but not have to have in my life.

Material things don't bring happiness. I think they are fun to have but that is the extent of it. What makes me happy is having the people that I love close to me. Doing good unto others and to myself makes me happy. I believe the most important things in life are free! Love, friends, family are all things that don't cost anything. And they are also the most important.

I do not need material things unless you consider my cat, boyfriend, family and friends material things!

No i dont think so if i had to chose between material things and my family. My family would come first every time, lets face it, you can replace material things but you cannot replace your family.

Personally I think this is the thought process many of us have gotten as kids. If you have $$ or the material things in life that come with that, that is all that counts. They never teach about the inmaterial things like Friendships, Love, Eduction, Family, Life in general to where a lot of times even when you have millions of dollars and a great job, you can still be unhappy.
No, to be Happy I do not need material things in my life. I just need a roof over my head, enough food in my Belly, a loving husband who cares for me, and a Faith and Trust in Jesus Christ to carry me on thru whatever comes my way. Sometimes it would be nice to have more, but then if I lost all I have by doing so, to me it would not be worth it at all.

That's a hard one and just depends on what a person considers a 'material thing'. Like for me, I want a home. I know I'm lucky to not be living on the streets or in some dumpy apartment but I want a nice home to live in. To me a home isn't a material thing. My car is old but I like it, however I know it's not 'good enough' for some people. To me that doesn't matter, a car is just a material thing and even if I could buy a brand new one it woyuld have to be replaced eventually anyway so what's the point.

It's easy for me to say that I don't need material things, but I'll be honest - I still want them. I am happy and grateful for all of my family and friends. I am not as bad as I used to be either. I used to buy the new released movies for my dvd collection, and I'm dangerous in a book store. But as I've matured and married and now have kids, I am more responsible. I used to have a serious weak spot for shoes. But now, I have about 15 pairs (including flip flops) and only get new ones when the old ones need replacing. I don't know where I would be without my computer and digital camera. So, it's something that I still battle. I always think, do I really need this? Can I get it cheaper? Will I really wear it/use it? It helps that I am on a budget too. I also try to remember that I am very lucky to have what I do in life and that others don't have as much as I do.

There was a time when my whole goal was to get any and everything that i and my children wanted or needed. I worked so hard and was hardly ever home for my older kids and i think they suffered for that.Being a single mother thats what i thought i had to do. But now my priorities have changed dramtically we are comfitable with our lives and get to spend time together as a family. So no at this point i can truthfully say i dont need material things to be happy.

I don't think I NEED material things in my life, but am I happier when I have them. They are not as important to me as the people in my life, though.
