My total came to a little over $28,000 and that was back in 2005. I had a c-section. THANK GOODNESS insurance paid for most of it - YAY! My precious little one is worth every penny of course! Just curious how much your hospital bills came to!

Wow thats high. my first one was under $3000 in 2002. my second one was almost $4,000 in 2005. my third i think was under $4000 too. i wonder why yours was so much more than mine? i guess the area we live in. i live in a very small area and our hospital is probably a lot more low tech then most. we still don't have the 3D/4D ultrasound machines in this area.

The $28,000 is the GRAND TOTAL - dr's fees, hospital fees, anesth. etc. Even include the $8.00 little caps that he wore while in the hospital!

My last baby was born in 2006. The doctor fee was $3000, my room fee was $1600, the nursery was $1200, and everything else totalled $2300. Hard to believe it was that high considering...the doctor was with me for 20 minutes total, I kept the baby with me almost the entire time, I had a completely natural birth and was only at the hospital for around 36 hours. I think having babies should be free unless there are serious complications. I did all the work after all, why am I the one that has to pay?

well, giving birth did not cost me or my hubby anything! what we didnt get paid for by the private insurance company (such as a double room), the government pays for...i live in canada and our health system is a good one!
