We are about to have our first kid and Iam due in 15 weeks and I have yet to decide weather I want to do the birthing naural or if I want the shot. My mom didn't get the shot back when I was born because she felt that it might effect the baby, but that's no longer the case.
I would like to not get the shot but i want to know from woman who have already had kids which they think is better and if they didn't get the shot then would they do the next one with the shot?

When I had my first daughter, the epidural wasn't even an option to me when I first went into labor. I had it in my mind that I wanted a natural labor/birth and I wasn't very open-minded about the whole experience. They recommended the epidural to me because labor wouldn't progress so they thought that maybe if I relaxed it would help. My daughter was stuck and I ended up having to have a STAT csection. Since I had my mind stuck on a natural birth, I went into post partem depression before I even left the hospital. If I had went into the hospital with an open mind, I wouldn't of missed out on the first hours of my daughter's life. We didn't bond for a few weeks and it breaks my heart.
My second daughter was born via scheduled csection because I had Gestional Diabetes. When she was born, she weighed 11 pounds 1 ounce and was 21.5 inches long. My body produces large babies.
I'm currently pregnant with my last and 3rd child. I would love nothing more than to experience a "natural" labor and delivery BUT considering my past, I'm not going to hold my breathe for it. However, I have started the whole diabetic diet now and hope that something will change this time.

I had an epidural with both of my children. With my first I got it when my water broke I ended up being in labor for about 30 hours the contractions where coming about every 5 minutes but I was not dialating. With my second I got it about 20 minutes before he was born so I felt most of the contractins it was bad and they hurt but I livrd through it.I have always heard the contractions are the worst part I don't know who true that is.If I where you I would just go for as long as you can and if you feel you need pain medicine then get it and don't feel bad for it.Take it thats what its there for.
