I live outside of Pittsburgh and I want to move closer to the city. Which neighborhoods would you say are decent to live in and don't cost too much? I also would like to stay away from Pittsburgh Public School District if possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I need to be closer to the city than I am now. Right now I am only about 15-20 min outside the city but with traffic it can take an hour. uuggghhh!

Hi - I too am a Pittsburger! Anyway Sharler school district is pretty good. I have 2 kids there now. There is also North Hills school district thats not too bad. I would stay away from the city schools too. Are you looking to buy or rent? There are apartment buildings in Ross Township that aren't to bad in price. There are sooo many houses for sale you can't even begin to know. It doesn't matter what price range you can find it. Just to start with try these: Shaler township Ross township Millvale Borough Etna Township McCandless Township Hope this helps. Hey if you have any more questions let me know maybe I can help. And by the was welcome to MyLot!!

Thats where I am - Millvale. All I have to say is make sure your not in a flood zone because Millvale has a tendancy to be under water. Stay away from North Ave. and Evergreen, ALL the houses have been flooded at one point or another! Don't let them tell you otherwise!!! There are a lot of good forclosures in Millvale so keep your eye out. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. PM me if you need to!
