My kitty cat have throwed up a few times and when I went to a pets shop to buy something, they said that it might because of the hair ball inside of her that caused it... but it's actually a short haired cat, so we bought a a tube with chocolate and stuffs that the shop owner said it will help her.

even short haired cats can get hair balls just put vasaline at least once a month on the front feet and that will help.

Yes I use it all the time it is a lot cheaper than the malted products that you can buy in the pet stores. I use it at night on my feet to keep my heels soft and just put a little on his front feet and when he licks it off he is treating the hair ball problem.

i used to have a long hair that did quite a bit. the medicine you smear on the fur helped him quite a bit.my newer cats do once in awhile, but in their case,it's probably overeating.

it worked pretty well-at the time i had to get the stuff from the vet,but i think it may be non-prescription at walmart now.he didn't even get sick a fourth of what he did after getting that.

My cat is also short -haired and does get hairballs once in awhile. However, when he was younger, he threw up a lot more becasue I fed him cheap food and the red dye in the food made him sick, so I always have to make sure the food I get does not have the red colorant in it. Try switching to a decent brand of cat food like Cat Chow or better brand and see if that helps, along with the hairball remedy. One other thing, if your cat eats its food real fast or too much at once, sometimes that will make them throw up soon after eating, too. Smaller portions help with this. If you cat is throwing up more than two or three times a week, and none of these suggestions help (or if she suddenly seems weak or loses intrest in food), then you will want to take your cat to the vet to make sure she does not have a blockage in her digestive tract. Good Luck.

My cats spew hairballs at the time. We use something called Laxatone to help their digestive system so they throw up less. It helps but sometimes we still have problems. My cat always pukes in the middle of the night. Its not what I like to wake up to!

ic... so it sounds like pretty normal for cats to throw up. I have being a little worried about that before and our family was like "maybe she is sick" etc etc

It is normal. They have a very touchy digestive system and can sick easily. Just make sure you're not switching the types of food they eat all the time. They should eat the same brand of food all the time.

I think we switched many times before, because there are not many kind of food that she actually likes and if she doesnt like it... she wont eat even if she is really hunry and have not eaten for a day

oh my, we have one such cat that is frequently throwing up. I don't think it is because of hair balls with her, but who knows. It is disgusting though, she always pukes up huge amounts. gives me the willies. I am thinking on changing her name to either Ralph or Barfy!

It doesn't really matter if a cat has long or short hair, both types can have hairballs, did you get the Petromalt as that is the best for hairballs for cats

I think that all cats do that from time to time I mean I have a few cats and they do that...but from what I have heard when my cats have done this is that the cat food that you are feeding them is not reacting well to their bodies...that can cause them to throw it back up too...or if you have gotten them a certain kind of treat that they aren't use to..or like the person said at the store it could just be a hairball or something like that...but I really hope that your kitty gets well and I don't think that I would worry that much about it because like i said i think all cats do that... ic.. ic ^^ but my cat doesnt eat all kind of cat foods and we have tried like 4-5 different kind of cat foods before we found that one she likes. so it will be a little troublesome if that one is not reacting well to her body XD

Shorthair cats can have problems with hairballs too, i have shorthair cats and sometimes they throw up or maybe your cat has an upset stomach, then they throw up as well. If cats have an upset stomach they like to eat grass.

You could also buy food with hairball control already in it, and digestive enzymes. Just because your cat is short haired, doesn't mean it cannot have hairballs or anything. Long haired cats just have them more frequently.

yea... but she do throw up frequently as well, so I was a little unsure if it's really because of hair ball. Anyways it seems like it not any big deal after all and I will check out these foods with hairball control in it ^^
