That's right! I just heard it on the news and looked it up on line. Seems award-winning cancer expert Dr Vini Khurana published his findings and say that cell/mobile phones are more dangerous then smoking. He actually states: "Mobile phones could kill far more people than smoking or asbestos" Now this doesn't surprise me actually but I have to wonder all these people who have been screaming about smoking will now turn towards cell phones the same way. Below are links to different copies of the articles: http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=77302 http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-wellbeing/health-news/mobile-phones-more-dangerous-than-smoking-or-asbestos-802602.html?r=RSS http://health.propeller.com/story/2008/03/30/cell-phones-more-dangerous-than-smoking Here is a link to the actual study: http://www.brain-surgery.us/mobilephone.html I'm curious to see what everyone thinks.

I can't say that I'm all that surprised. At first I thought you were talking about the amount of accidents that occur because people are talking on their phones. But I have heard rumors for years about the cell phone causing brain tumors. There are so many things these days that can cause cancers it's unreal. It almost makes me want to through out everything and move into a nice secluded area and live off the land.

Well I read reports over a year ago about them causing cancer, but most didn't want to hear it. Now though it's all over the news and I have to wonder if people will jump on the "Ban" wagon and want to limit where and how cell phones are used. I doubt it because so many seem to want cell phones. Everything now a days seems to cause problems. It's how are world is. Probably why I try not to worry about it all and just enjoy things in my life that I can. I have to admit though a nice secluded spot sounds good to me. If you find one let me know.

LOL - I sure will. Maybe we'll start us up a nice new community :) I think it's one of natures fight backs with all the things causing cancer. I just hope that they'll just figure out a way to fight the cancer or a new way to make the cell phones more safe.

I could handle living in a new community that's for sure. Kind of tired of the one I'm in. It could be that nature is fighting back, not sure but I think people should at least think about what this could mean. It would be nice if they make them safer but who knows if they will. In the mean time they could always have "Designated Cell phone areas" right?

Smoking dangerous? There are people over a hundred years old and still smoking. People die every day, and to attribute smoking to be a cause is nonsense. Don't get me wrong as I have Never smoked and I have had a triple heart bypass even thogh I have eaten well. We have to look left and right in this life (watch that bus please)to survive and hope that cancer does not take a grip of us. There are too many scare mongers in this world and even they die young through no fault of there own. If a mobile phone fell out someones flat20 srories up and fell on your head well YES it would probably kill you. So not only look left and right but look up as well! Have a great life from Deeeky

Heheheh I happen to agree that far too many things they over blame. Smoking being one of them. I have no clue really on the cell phones I just find it interesting and curious to see how people respond to it. For the last few years I've seen people jump all over smoking and blaming it for everything, ready to believe anything negative on it. I'm curious to see if these same people who think things that are "Bad" for us should be banned will want cell phones banned as well.

If you look into the lives of these people that say that things are bad are probably using all those bad things themselves.

I don't know if I would go as far as believe they kill more people than cancer, I think that is a rather large inference, but I do believe they do kill people, they are a disaster on the road, causing so many needless accidents and there is evidence of brain damage if people use them too much.

I suggest you re-read the article and what was posted. It's not that they will kill more then cancer but more then smoking or asbestos. That they do cause cancer and tumors.

I believe it. I have heard alot of things about cell phones also. My daughter has her phone glues to her earn every chance she gets and she stays on it for hours. I hate phones and I hate talking on them so I don't have any worries with that. I do smoke like a freight train though.

We don't have a cell phone ether and I have no real need for one so not really worried on that. Even if I did get one I'd use it so rarely that again I wouldn't be concerned. Like you though I do smoke but I'm not worried about it either. To be honest just want to enjoy life in whatever way I can.
