Upon what rational basis do you place your faith in a bound lump of paper. The one "TRUTH" that defies every logical explanation of science? The bible spits in the face of fact and actual scientific proof, and every "prophet" would be considered clinically insane today. So I ask, if your bible is true, and God is God, why would he not come down in a boom of thunder and prove for once, his existence?

To be "insane" is relative.
Galileo was looked upon as not quite right.
I'm sure A.G. Bell was looked at like a kook when he invented the device that is now the ancestor to our cell phone.
Do you think Mother Teresa and Dr. Martin Luther King are insane?
According to science,
there was a big boom that started it all.
Personally,
I really don't mind if you count me among the crazies.
In fact, I'd be most humbled and honored.

According to Creationists, there was some an almighty being who created us with his magical powers. ;)
No, seriously though, I suggest you look at this link to get a better understanding of the Big Bang Theory; http://www.big-bang-theory.com/
Because, if you believe scientists think a 'big boom' caused it all then you've probably not looked into it much.

You talk as if faith and proof go hand in hand. Isn't faith that you get up in the morning? Do you get in your car and drive to work everyday? Do you exam a chair everytime you sit down? We live in faith every day. As far as the proof, each time science has tried to prove wrongs of the Bible you will find that something is always guessed or missing if you follow all the way through. God will return and the earth will be destroyed by fire. (Revelation), but one thing He promises is that it will not happen until all people have had a chance to hear. God has always given choice. There are also consequences with our choices. If you believe Jesus came to Earth to represent God in flesh and die to pay for our sins, then you spend eternity in Heaven with Him. If you choose not to believe, it is eternity in Hell. I leave you with these questions...What if you are wrong and the Bible is true? For me there is a lot more to lose by not having faith in what the Bible says.

It seems to me that you have never read theological reflection of the sages of different religious system. I am not saying that all of them are true in all what they say, but there are profound wisdom is many of what they say. Moreover, since you say specifically about the Bible, I wonder where from you have derived... which chapter? Which book? that the Bible spits in the face ofjavascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$lbStart','')

Obviously, you misunderstand. I have studied many, many religions.Have YOU read it, any person with half a brain can see that the bible DOES contradict science. Seas do not part because a bearded man says so. People do not walk on water, they sink in it. If you are studying different religions you are at least smarter than the rest. I did not say that the bible didnt have any wisdom. The ten commandments are a GREAT idea, if they could work.Alas, if every christian in the armed forces followed the ten commandments completely, there would be no reason for them to be in the military.
Thank you.

the bible is a book written by man, at a period of time with thoughts on how life should be. If god really told them to write what they wrote why isnt god still telling us to write things, and dont say because Jesus came and then there was no need, b/c the books in the New Testment were written way after jesus
