In the beginning it was the size of the mailbox. I like never having to throw an email away. Now I like that I can chat inside gmail. I also like the fact that I can search for a particular email with gmail.

I've used Gmail for about four years now. I'm using it a lot now, simply because I need a way to check all of my mail accounts (Gmail's checking three of my other accounts for me) in a single login. Sure, I could set up webmail on my hosting packages that do the same thing, but Gmail is mostly an act of convenience at this point.
Additionally, I like being able to check mail by whipping out a phone and launching a single application designed to fit on one screen, which I haven't seen anyone else with.
