I'm sorry to hear about your exam. This topic actually hits close to home, 'cause I actaully failed a couple of math exams when I was in high school. What I found to be my problem is my mentality: I hated it. I wanted to be rid of it. It's useless. So I hope this lengthy response will provide some light.
That kind of thinking did not work. Eliminating math from my life will just close doors and I didn't want that. So I calmed down and focused. Think 'I want' rather than 'I need'. Math is actaully quite simple, so you don't need to overthink or believe it's hard. Find someone who knows their stuff and are willing to help you. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. One other thing, dedicate a time slot where you do nothing but math. Rid yourself of distractions (friends, phone, internet, family etc.). Tell your friends and family not to disturb you and focus soley on improving yourself.
It's not the end of the world. Perservere. I'm rooting for you.
Cheers.

I think people start to hate even before they start formal schooling because that is the kind of attitude that they see in their environment. For example, you hear your parents saying "oooh I hate this computation" whenever they are trying to balance their checkbook or you hear an older brother or sister saying that "math is their worst nightmare". Just by those simple things, Math is at a disadvataged already.
Students have an assumption already that Math is going to be hard. Thus, when they sit there and the teacher starts explaining, nothing seems to jive because their minds are blocked already thinking that these concepts are something that they cannot understand.
I wouldn't say that Math is an easy subject. What I would say is that Math is a subject that can be learned slowly and surely by all. After all, we use Math in our everyday lives.

Where there is a will there is a way. one of the most important things to succss is a firm resolution. A great man is always one who has a firm resolution and an inflexible spirt. one will never scuceed all his life without a firm will to get the final victory.

I guess you either hate math or you really like it... I would say it is partly the teachers' fault as they make it seem like such a boring subject. If it is taught properly I believe more people will come to like math as it is all about logical thinking...

Remember that VERY few people excell in all school subjects. You have found an area that you have trouble with.I happened to enjoy math but could not understand physics.Think about what you do excell at.I bet one(or both) of your parents did not like math much in school either. For many of us,the basic math is all we will need in our lives.

ohh..im sad for you..
its not that math is really a subject to hate but something to challenge your mind. i once hate math until i finally had my best math teacher when i reach HighSchool...
maybe you just need someone to teach you as well as inspire you to keep in mind all the things you need to understand (since math is a matter of understanding than memorizing)
another thing you might need is you've got to be interested.. hehe.. its like choosing a course.. well.. in any course i believe youve got to learn math..
dont lose hope..you will always have the chance to extend your potencial.. maybe not on math but on other things.. :D have good day to you

I know how you think of now.You shouldn't be like that.I'm also not good at math, but I never give it up.I still work hard on it and I tell myself that I can do well on it.At last,I did.So you should believe yourself and never say give up.We also can do it if others can.

sounds just like me back in high school but hmm the only way I got around it was to do the math with someone or things I liked(e.g counting grapes). That way my hatred for math had less impact on my dignity and grades. Well not significant enough but it was better than me givin' up on it altogether because later in life maths keeps coming back to haunt you...just my opinion don't know if it makes any difference
