Birth Day of My Province!!!

Friends, I'm the resident of Orissa, a province in the eastern coastal range of India. Today, 1st April 2008 is the 72nd birth anniversary of my province. It got the status of a province on the basis of language 'ORIYA' on this date of 1936. My province is the abode of Lord Jagannath at Puri. I love my province as well as my language ORIYA (Mother tongue) very much. I welcome all friends those know my province and / my language to comment on my discussion.

Well i an also from the same state.
And today the first of april is the birthday of the state.
And it is celebrated all over the state as utkal divas. And it is celebrated with much fanfare all over the state.

Congradulations to you and your province! It is great to see someone with pride in their country!
Also,thank you for educating me a bit on Orissa.I had not heard of it before this .When you can add pictures to your response,I would love to see a picture of Jagannath Puri Temple or one of the other major sites!That is the great thing about MyLot....the sharing of ideas and knowledge.By the way,....welcome to MyLot!
