Hi Banipenet. Its ok no one is perfect and I don't think most of members here criticize anyone's English. Its ok and this is a great site to learn you English as it is somewhat same as having a conversation in English. I would be happy to help you in anyway I can as I have been a teacher before and used to correcting student papers. Don't be discouraged and just have fun here in my lot!

Are you sure you are not a native English writer, banipenet!? :-) From your post and comments, it appears that you are very good at expressing yourself in English, really! I am a non-native myself and I am not very good at expressing either. You are right about this site as a probable learning experience, I know I have learned from here. I do like when people can correct me and make me better at expression. The amount of motivation and willingness you have with the type of respectful and learning attitude that you exhibit, I believe you will learn quick enough! I hope I will learn too, from you and others! Best of luck!:-)

Banipenet, I would say - 'Where there is a will, there is a way'. If you wish to learn 'English', you will surely learn it or for that matter anything, provided you should have detemination in your mind to learn the language. Remember, English may not be your mother toungue, so it takes time to 'master' the language. I believe, the more you write here on mylot, more you will learn automatically. Besides, please keep reading some English magzines, books and Newspapers to upgrade and enhance and brush up your knowledge. All the very best to you. I would be there to support, whenever you would ask for or whenever needed.

Hi banipenet, I see that you are trying hard to improve your English which I do have the same idea. Fortunately, I found an English teacher in mylot who is willing to teach English for all Chinese students. If you are not a Chinese student, fear not, I bet she will still accept you as long as you are able to express your interest in improving your English. The person I recommend is deckardt which is in my friend list so I hope you can take a look at my list of friends and find the person whose username is above mentioned. Add her and me as your friend and we can improve our English together.

Hey...thanks a lot! Actually how did Deckardt learn you English? I am not a Chinese, but i will be pleasant to enjoy you.

Hi, I have the same problem too. There is a few times when I respond to discussion and being told that I mistaken their meaning. and I cannot write well too.
1 Apr 08
Yes, it happens to me too. I would respond to more discussion but i renounce because i don't know how to speak well in English and sometimes when i want to say something it is understanding something else. This is not really pleasant but we have to learn more and we will have a good flow of this language.

You are fortunate speaking English very well since learning it from 1st grade. I have to recognize that i didn't gave to much importance to learn English in school, but now i grown up and i realize that is very helpful to know an international language. All the best to you too. Thank you!

What you want to say Bobby? I can't understand you! You are making so much spelling error! :)) I was joking! I hope that you will not get mad on me. You know, i feel somehow protected if i apologize from something that i know i don't do very well before to let the occasion to others to laugh on me.

Don't worry about it. Your written English seems to be pretty good to me as it is. Don't let the fear of misunderstanding or of being misunderstood stop you from posting on MyLot. There are a lot of people on here who are not native English speakers and I for one, don't take any notice of poor English if it's posted by someone like you - It's usually possible to work out what the poster means English as a language is pretty flexible when it comes to grammar and sentence structure, it can be mangled quite a bit and still be understandable.

Thank you! I let you know that i hardly take pains when i respond to a discussion, i stay long time and think "how did it said?" :)

bani, I think that your usage of English is very good! you know, even we who have English as our native language tend to mess it up quite a bit - sometimes out of laziness, sometimes out of local dialect but often times out of ignorance. my spelling is atrocious!
3 Apr 08
No, you are not atrocious, i understand what you mean. It was another member who gives me a similar response with you regarding those who have English like native language, this mean that you have right. Thank you a lot!

English is a very dynamic language. It changes and progress every now and then. I admire you so much for being so humble and truthful. Humility is your key to success, I must say. Though I'm an English teacher, I still commit mistakes sometimes. Well, no one of perfect. Let's try to progress everyday.

Thanks a lot! So, you are an English teacher...Hey guys, jump over him!!! :)) I was joking!

The idea of improving your English here is a great idea. The only down side to it is that so many people use poor English, and I do not mean just those who are learning. Many native speaking English people seem to lose their grasp of the language when posting here. I think that it is wonderful that you are so open to corrections. I will be happy to help you in anyway possible, just let me know.
3 Apr 08
Thank you a lot! I like to think about me that i am an open minded and i don't refuse some critics because i can learn from it.
