Have you ever had this happen to you? When I was was teenager I wanted to help (and impress) my boyfriend's mother when she went on vacation for a week. I decided to wash some of the family's clothes. Shirts, underwear, etc so I filled a large basin with water, wash powder (back in the days when it was powder not liquid, add about a half a large bottle of bleach and dump in all the laundry. Unfortunately then I just forgot about it. When the mother came back all that was left of my good deed was a basin full of slimy rotted clothes!! They all had to be replaced. Nothing could be saved needless to say she was not pleased and I had to promise never to help again if she was gone. The romance did continue for a few more years but the family never let me forget my good deed.
What have you done that did not turn out as planned??

OH my goodness that is awful! Not that you did it, but that it happened. I bet you felt so bad!
I actually know that slimy rotten clothes that you are talking about. I had let something soak in hot bleach water for a few days, and when I came back it was so disgusting.
What a life lesson huh?

When I was 14 and starting a new babysitting job...I tried to impress them. On the first night I babysat I noticed the dishwasher was full so I decided to wash them. I couldn't find any dishwasher soap so I put some dish washing liquid in. Well I am sure you all know what I didn't... I heard a funny noise in the kitchen and when I got there....SUDS all over the place...it took me hours to clean it up and get the soap out of the dishwasher. Of course this was after I called my mother crying asking what do I do....lol Oh to be young.
Brightest Blessings, Mari

I know I have but I can't remember any at the moment. Oh well, you were trying and that in itself should be considered. I'm glad you posted this because it reminds me that I have a load in the washer right now that I've washed yesterday!! LOL Be right back!! LOL

Well I can definitely understand why your boyfriends mother wouldn't want you to help anymore while she is not there, LOL!
As for me, when I was at high school age, my dads barbecue had a small hole in the gas inlet, and as I'd just started to learn welding at school, decided to fix it for him with his welder before he got home from work. Trouble was, I had the ampage up too high, and ended up burning a much bigger hole in it. Luckily, welding was his occupation, so after swearing and cussing, he fixed it. Needless to say, I never touched his welder after that!
