I am planning to start to do fishcakes...I bought recently frozen fishcakes from the supermarket in United Kingdom and they were so delicious, and my little boy just loved them. So i have decided i should probably try to make my own. I browse few recipes on the internet, but i would love to if you can share your experiences and some tips with me.Does actually someone make their own fishcakes or do you always buy them in the shop, i guess it is more comfortable in nowday rushed world. Please share....thanks everyone for comments.

If you have "left-overs" fish and Potatoes from a previous meal or start from scratch.Whatever fish it is,
Fish -- mashed potatoes=same weight
mix with egg and season.Divide into serving pieces, mould into balls, pass through flour, eggand milk, then breadcrumbs into balls. When frying in hot fat, press down with egg-lifter to flatten.

fishcake is not difficult to prepare i guess. You just need a fish - mostly it is good to make a fishcake using spanish mackerel because the smell and the taste will be more fishy. What you can do is to process 1lb the fish and add 2 tbsp corn flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 egg white and 1 cup water in one time. You can shape your fishcake before frying them. You also can keep the fried fishcake in the fridge and use them later.

You know what, you also can add some chopped coriander leaves when blending the fish mix. For variety, you can wrap the fish mix in the soy sheet and fry them. I would like to tell you that this kind of fishcake is not like what most of your respondent mentioned here but it is more like the one which made by the Chinese in their culinary.
