Pleas eHJelp me on Installing Linux

Guys i tried installing Open Suse 10.3 on my system, after i went through all the installtion process, my computer had some problem and did not start the Linux Os.
i faced the same problem twice, my computer boots up, but at the time of showing the login window, the Monitor turns off, CPU is still rinning.
what can be the cause of this problem????

so your computer does not quit running, but your screen goes blank. Does it show your screen up until it gets ready to some the Gui? If so you may not have the right device driver for your graphics card. Just a guess though I have not used Linux much, just took a class on the command line in college.

yup it does show the booting up process on my screen, and afterwards it just turns off, it doesnt even go blank, it turns off, na dsystem contunies running, i.e the lights are glowing atleast, bu not even my keyboard responds!!!

i shoudn't be answering this discussion cause i'm not using open suse, but i just wanna suggest,why don't you try xubuntu, if you want...
