What is your favorite comfort food??

At night, after I get home from work, there is nothing better then a bowl of ice cream to release some of the stress of work and the drive. Chocolate is good too but not as good as ice cream. I think it takes longer to eat the ice cream so it helps more. Cherry brandy helps me sleep, so I like that too. So what food helps you feel better? What is your comfort food? Any special reason? Like it was something grandma gave you to eat as a kid.

I would have to say that chocolate is one of my comfort foods. I also love the Raisin Rum ice cream from Haggan Daz. It is so yummy. I feel so happy and free when I am eating either one of these foods.

Raisin Rum ice cream -- that sounds real good! and of course Chocolate - which should be a food group onto itself that we should have every day. Required

I know it's like their should be a law or something that requires chocolate to be part of a healthy lifestyle or something. But that's just my fantasy. Chocolate is so good I get shivers just thinking or talking about it. I just bought some two bars of Caramello today and I can't wait to sink my teeth into that piece of dark, sexy, and handsome piece of chocolate.

Lays Classic potato chips are my favorite comfort food. All I have to have is a few and I am comforted. It takes me forever to go through a bag of chips. But I always have some in the house for when I do need them.

Lays Classic...used to like those, but now I prefer the baked ones. I guess it is healthier that you don't eat them all of the time. My ex- used to eat a bag of chips a night.

I guess home made fried chicken. Fast food fried chicken doesn't count, I might as well eat a bucket of grease. My deceased grandma used to make the best fried chicken ever. Whenever I was sick as a child I'd ask my mom to make it. Of course I don't have it often, and I didn't back then either. I probably haven't had it enough to get tired of it.

Dear friend Usually I take light food in the night after coming from office. I prefer chapati with simple vegetable curry without any spice.I also like fruit juice or any type of soup. I always prefer bread & butter which is less consuming time and there is no cooking headache. pkc3000

But what is the food that you eat that calms you down after a hard day or you want when you are upset?

I do not really have a comfort food! If I am stressed I tend to go the opposite way and am unable to eat a thing! I never used to be like that, I used to eat packs of crisps and would quite happily sit and eat a huge bag, and sometimes I would have a dip to go with it. But the last couple of years I just cannot eat at thing if I am stressed, it is good in one way as then I do not put any weight on but it is bad in another because I always end up losing quite a lot of weight instead and then I look and feel really ill.

Oh, I can only dream about losing weight without trying to lose it. Nothing kills my appetite. Consider yourself lucky. Then you can enjoy eating to gain some weight...what a wonderful goal that would have to be.

Get me a well prepared Millet bread, firm, steaming, with a fine mixture of cassava flour-Get a smoked Giant wild Rat, they are usually 5-6 kg-boil it in tomatoe soup, add some fine pieces of dry cucumber and then salt to test, steam it up until the meat is soft and ready-get a fine mix of G.nut and simsim paste and then season the Giant rat meat with the mixture-lay the table and invite me for a meal-that is what my ethnic group calls, a favourite comfort food!

My best comfort food is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I never get tired of them. Also, anything sweet but chocolate chip cookies realy it the spot. And especially dark chocolate. Could be why I can't lose weight.

The milk was a given! I have often posed your question to God and the answer seems to be that fruits and veggies also taste good. I do like to eat fruits and veggies and they taste good to me but I also like the stuff that is not as healthy too!

ANd you have to have it with a glass of ice cold milk...warm chocolate chip cookies. Nice going! If I am not careful, I will be drooling on my keyboard. Oh I understand about not being able to lose weight, but the best foods are so unhealthy. Why is that?

Comfort food... yummy! I'm not really a "mood" eater at all and I don't eat to alleviate stress... but here are a few things that I consider guilty pleasures... Ice cream (when I do have it, I try to buy the best quality I can afford at the time) Homemade apple crisp (with extra brown sugar, just because *grin*) Nachos and salsa Chips with that Philadelphia whipped sour cream and chives cream cheese (not the "chip dip" one) Fritos or Munchos (super salty and really not something I should ever be eating hehe) Dark chocolate Strangely, I also consider creamy mushroom rice (you know that stuff mom used to make using cream of mushroom soup and instant rice???) a comfort food... LOL! I have cut most carbs from my regular diet and I probably miss rice the most. Made with the cream soup, it's something I'll find myself eating, once in a blue moon, particularly if I'm having a pretty lousy day.

Yep! LOL Not "really" a mood eater... but if I'm gonna be, it'll be the rice before any of the other junk food... my poor stomach *grin*

Wow, it all does sound good. Especially the dark chocolate. Ahh...you are a mood eater..tht mushroom soup and rice...my mom never made that - now i feel deprived. We would have rice with milk and sugar or scrambled eggs with buttered egg noodles.

Comfort food really make someone feel great and extremely satisfied. In my case, I love to eat ice cream and certain fruits like apples, oranges, strawberries, etc. Of course, cakes, chocolates, and other sweets also make my day.

it depends. usually when I want comfort, I would go for some cold drinks or ice cream. but when I am also feeling hungry at the same time, I would buy some burger or french fries. :P but when it is at night, well, instant noodle is still fine. LOL.

During a stressful day, when bored, while watching tv, after everything is done, a bag of Tostitos and a jar of a good salsa could do just anything. Makes me feel better and comforted. I have been into this craving eversince and this has been a lifetime favorite. It has never changed.

Coconut ice cream with a cadburys chocolate flake broken up over it with strawberry sauce that is my wicked combination to comfort me and its sooooo delicious and yummy. I have been known to run a nice hot bath, lie back and tuck in, double stress relief! Mmmm now I am making myself hungry. I have always liked ice cream, I am not a big dessert eater but give me ice cream any time! But coconut ice cream is the best, the creme de la creme!
