I will be purchasing a laptop anytime soon but I still don't know what to get. I am a student and I want my laptop to cater to my school needs so I really need a big hard disk space. I am also a gamer so I need to have one that has a good resolution and graphics. Great sounds also matter to me.
I have heard of Dell having good ones that suit me, but I still want other people's opinion on this? What would be the best laptop to buy?

Dell's machine is fine, but it ultimately depends what sort of application you are going to run.
If you need to do video editing, photoshop or other intensive stuff like programming, you will need large hard disk and a lot of memory for these. You may even want to have one with good graphics card especially when it comes to video making and gaming.
But such machine is not cheap, is quite big (at least 14-inch screen) and it is quite heavy as well - about 3kg or 6.6lbs
I'll still recommend Dell for its slightly more affordable price. But if you have the money to spend, go for Japanese brand like Sony or Fujitsu...They are more reliable....Second choices would be HP and Lenovo though

My mom actually suggested Sony Vaio but it's a bit pricey and I want to save some money to buy softwares too. If Dell would be fine, then I'd probably go for Dell.

What is your price range? If you have a fair price range, you should build your own computer on the dell website so you can get one that has the specs you want. They even have a "Gamer Computer" selection there too, with laptops.
