Green tea is a very common beverage in Egypt, and it is quite likely that patients will drink green tea while taking antibiotics. The medical researchers wanted to find out if green tea would interfere with the action of the antibiotics, have no effect, or increase the medicines' effects. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/03/080330200640.htm Do you drink green tea for health purposes, people say they lose weight with green tea this articles says it fight of superbugs like the flu etc or do you really prefer the taste to regular black tea?

I love green tea but it is an acquired taste. I prefer to drink some of the combinations of green tea with other fruits - I especially like the one with cranberry. I have started drinking redbush tea which, again, I know alot of people aren't keen on. My boyfriend thinks it tastes quite medicinal. Although I love to drink green tea I have to tell you about my favourite use of green tea. A sushi bar we go to when in Slovenia serves two delicious desserts - green tea frozen yoghurt and green tea tiramisu! They are wonderful.

I really enjoy green tea with jasmine, but I've read that white tea is even better for you! It can be more expensive as it's rarer for some reason (more difficult to cultivate or something) but it's really nice too. I really enjoy a brand of white tea with vanilla. It's nice to finally find something that's not only good for you, but tastes nice too.

Frankly, I don't care for green tea. I much prefer black teas. I haven't tried the red ones yet. I doubt if green tea is really good for all the things people say it is, but I think tea is a good thing overall. Once when I had bronchitis, the chiropractor told my Mom to get some violet tea at the health food store. I drank it and it did help break up the junk in my chest. And it tasted like violets, stems and all. But it was pleasant enough. We don't have a "real" healthfood store anymore...just the things like GNC that sell everything in pill form. For the violet tea, at the real health food store, it was sold by the ounce in little brown bags. Neat.

I suggest you to drink the Chinese green tea. There are varieties of green tea in China. Some of them are very expensive, but they are really worth it.Green tea can make you feel more clear-headed.And it smells fresh and tastes good.Coffee is not so popular for Chinese, but green tea is just opposite. We drink it for thousand of years.

I like green tea. A friend recommended it when I was having trouble with bowel movement. This has helped a lot. Also, I feel a lot refreshed and energised after consumption. I am not sure about it fighting flu but it sure is a good drink for digestion :D

i used to drink green tea before as it is know for its antioxidant properties & it also helps in reducing weight. But i am not too sure about its effects on antibiotics. Taking antibiotics has amajor side effect of increasing weight. The main reason for my weight gain is taking lots of antibiotics.*sigh*

I have tried green tea ,but find it not as tasty as black tea. I am not undermining the endorsed medicinal properties of green tea,but find it hard to substitute it for the regular one.

Sure I do, winterose. I drink green tea rather often, like every night. I am not sure if it is indeed giving me any health benefits. I sure hope it is!

Wow! Yes, I love green tea more than black tea. However, the green tea that we have here is like chemically processed, we are not quite sure if the effect is the same as to boiling fresh green tea leaves. "Our results show that we should consider more seriously the natural products we consume in our everyday life," says Dr Kassem. This is very true. Thanks for sharing the link!

I drank some with a friend recently, and liked the taste very much. This was the first time for me. I didn't notice any effects though, but then I guess green tea's benefits are not immediate nor obvious.

I like green tea, but it has to be like the Lipton ice tea version of it. I can't say that I have tried it hot. I like regular hot tea with honey and milk so maybe I should switch to the green tea version of that and do that for all of the health benefits that they talk about.

I like green tea. I was drinking it because of the supposed health benifits, I'm not drinking as much as before I retired, but I'm not drinking as much tea as when I worked.

I really prefer ordinary tea but what I do is mix a bit of green tea in with conventional tea and I find I can drink it this way. I use it as it is a good antioxidant and also is a directic so can help with fluid retention so therefore I suppose it aids weightloss in a way. Ellie :D
