What you wear in a wedding is not about you. Dressing up in uncomfortable clothes or even spending a little money to look nice is a way you pay a compliment to the occasion. You are saying, "yes, this is an important occasion, and I am going to go out of my way to let the bride and groom and other attendees know taht I recognize its specialness. If you were attending a wedding on a ranch and were asked to dress in jeans, then dressing in jeans would be your way of cmplying with the occasion and honoring of the couple. If you are invited to awedding ina traditional service, then honor the couple by attiring yourself appropriately. BTW, nice looking clothes do not have to be uncomfortable.

hey dayann30!I wouldn't wear jeans to a wedding cos I wouldn't wanna see someone in jeans at my wedding or he'll be kicked out instantly!!!You don't have to dress up in a thousand dollar gown or a designer suit, all u have to do is turn up in your best clothes and smile!

When I first read the title I thought that you were implying of a bride wearing jeans to a wedding. I am actually going to be wearing jeans to my wedding when I marry my fiance in a few short months. I do agree that for the more formal wedddings one should dress to the occasion or theme of the wedding itself. My guests are free to wear whatever they please. I believe that a wedding does not have to be formal and fancy to be the dream of a lifetime or a memorable experience. Thank you for this discussion, even if I was a bit mislead by the title. (Although I should have paid closer attention instead of getting excited about it and rushing to see it's contents)
