I was reading a study that showed that after the age of four most parents don't really know their kid.
I wonder why parents would stop listening or spending time with thier kids.
Is it that now the kid can talk and fully fuction that they feel they don't need them as much or what. This was really disturbing to me that so many parents are like this.
No matter how old a child gets parents should never pu their gaurd down.
When do you feel that kids can be independant and the parents can sit back and relaxe?

I gave up my full time job. Then my part time job to be home with my kid and spend time with her. This is precious time we won't get back. How sad parents don't know their child. I can say with relative certainty that I do. And I will be making every effort to make sure We stay in touch with each other. I believe it is critical to the well being of our kids.

I think most people will need their parents all their lives for one thing or another im 24 and very lucky in that I can call on my mum if I have any worries etc with my girls. Mine are 4 and 2 years I certainly have no plans to ever stop listening to my children
