Are There Any Health Conditions That Could Be Causing This Lack Of Energy...?

Over the last couple of months I've noticed that waking up in the morning is really hard for me. I go to bed at a reasonable time, usually between 10pm to 11pm, but I struggle to get up by 7am. I literally have to drag myself out of bed and it takes me about 30 minutes to feel "awake." If given the chance to sleep in, I will get up by 8:30am to 9:30 am, and only then do I feel rested.
To make things worse, I have to get my kids up and ready for school too. But I lay in bed in the morning thinking about not even getting them up for school, and then hating myself because I know I have to. This lack of energy in the morning is really starting to make me feel like a bad mother.
Are there any health conditions you know of that might be behind this lack of energy? Have you ever experienced it before? Any suggestions on helping me be a better "morning person"?

I wish I could get rid of it too. I was telling one man today, how I was so (happy to see, but) jealous witih how much great energy he had this morning. I wake up later now than I did before (seems each year gets later, too, which is bad). But I have had many health ailments causing this.
I was going to suggest several thigns and saw that others mentioned some of them already to you. First thing that I thought of was anemia. Then also any diet yo-yo'ing or lack of a certain nutrition. Or major stress. Fibromylalgia, lupus, overworked, any sleep problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, low glucose, etc.
Best of luck! And happy mornings to us all! ;o)

Let's cross our fingers. It isn't easy for doctors to figure out what it is either. Often fatigue is not identified in labs clearly or such either. I knwo from my own experiences. But I'll hope your (and our) fatigue fades away. I could use some energy too! Best of luck!

I have fibromyalgia that makes me tired a lot, but it also hurts a lot. For me, it's easier if I go to bed early, doesn't always happen that way. I have to get up at 6:20 to make sure mine are up and ready to meet the bus around 6:45-7:00.
Maybe trying to go to bed around 9-10 and see if your more rested in the morning for one night. See if it's easier for you to get up in the morning. If your still tired, you might need to see your doctor.

Just remember if you go to bed early and still wake up with that omg, I want to sleep in feeling. You might need to see your doctor and have some tests done.
Past two mornings I honestly sat up with that I don't know if I can get out of bed feeling. 2 days ago, I planted around 12 tulips and my legs are still killing me.
Come August, it's going to get even harder. I will still have to get up at 6:20 for my youngest, then turn around and wake my oldest up around 7 so she can get to school on time, since she goes to Middle School this fall. My youngest is the hardest to get up and ready, we call her the evil morning person,.

I will definitely try getting to bed earlier. I am sure that will probably help, the problem is that I can't always get to bed by 9. A friend of mine was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, so I know how hard it is to deal with, I definitely give you kudos for being able to get your kids up that early every morning!

I've been feeling like that for the past week or so and not sure why either. My son has been late to school because I've had trouble getting up as well. I haven't been out much either so I might just do that tommorrow and see how I go. I think our apartment is getting to me LOL I don't even have energy to clean up.

I hate that "zombie" feeling that I have when I first wake up. Sometimes it will stick with me all day too, more so if I am laying around all day. I have noticed that if I do get up, get out of the house, or just get moving then the tired feeling goes away and I feel more energized.

I actually remembered the next morning that it was my turn to volunteer at my son's school so I'm glad I got out of the apartment to do that for two hours. I had fun with the kids in his class. I went for a walk afterwards to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Felt good too.

stress can do alot to yer energy levels. just because youre unconcious for a decent amount of hours before waking, it doesnt necesarilly mean youre getting "restful" sleep, which could be why yer waking up feeling very tired. i can sleep for only 3-4 hours and wake up refreshed, and at other times be out cold for 8 hours and wake up exhausted. best thing to do if it doesnt go away in a couple days is consult your doctor. some quickie blood tests can rule out other causes such as the previously mentioned anemia, and can be easily remedied with a simple iron supplement if its necesary. hope you feel better soon
