Buying My First Home & the Stress is Killing Me!

I'm in the process of buying my first home and it is one of the most STRESSFUL freaking things to go through! We're also doing a program called the FHA 203K Rehabilitation Program which allows us to take our mortgage out for as much as we were pre-approved for as longs as it goes back into the house. Sounds easy right? WRONG!! We need to get estimates from liscensed contractors before we close on the house. It also means that we can't do the work ourselves and if anyone has ever dealt with contractors you know how much they enjoy hiking up the price on materials and labor. We're supposed to get the results from our city inspection today and this will be the final word on whether we will even get the house. The city we're buying in is very strict and if they say we need more money in escrow then we've planned for we'll have to walk away and go back to square one. I'm at my wits end here and part of me just wants it to be over with regardless of the outcome! If anyone hs any suggestions on how to handle contractors please let me know!! Thanks All!
