Scientific knowledge and others are not the only important components of life.
Sharing joy ,sorrow, happiness are more important too.
From grand parents we get love and affection. The most important of life is relationships and relatives.
Grand parents can comfort us in the days of sorrow. They also have valuable experience which we want.
They also install in us the importance of family bonds.
From your name,I guess that you are one. :) Have a good time with your grand children. :)
Cheers !

you'd be suprised. My grandfather taught me how to use Access 2003.
He is the REAL grandfather of technology.

it is nice to listen to stories of their adventures and experiences in their youth and the lessons they have learned. sometimes they will describe the war era, recall past events with vivid descriptions, and how different their time is from us etc, .that is first-hand history for me.

I learned from their strong will for life. the way they fought for a living, the way they didn't give up when everything seemed impossible to solve.
and I learned how they valued each the child they had. even if they couldn't afford the living sometimes, they still insisted on raising the children by themselves, never gave the children away for any financial problem reason.
today the situation is a bit different. I keep reading some frightening news about mothers sold their daughters away for such 'financial problem' excuses. I think this is just terrible and I'm glad that my parents were raised by these grandparents of mine.

I think there are at lest three points : industrious , thrifty and tolerance . My grandparents are so kind people, they love all of their children ,and we love them back !

I think that they can teach us moral values. They can also show the importance of family bonds. They may not have an academic background, but they nevertheless have a lifetime experince and this experience is the best gift they can offer us according to me.
