what is hibernating ?

how to put our system in hibernat mode , what is the use of it , does it has any fruitful utilization by hibernating pc, plz help

Hibernation is putting the system into a kind of mode shutdown mode, but keeping your current work saved in the current state. That means when you poweron your computer will display what you were doing last time. For that you need free space equal to ram.

my ram is currently of 256 MB what i need to do now ? does hibernating leads to consume more memory.thanx for replying to post
